And every level up to that. Marked him twice, there was fuck all you could do if you couldnât get out ahead of him. Luckily both times he was moved from corner out to wing forward, the relief was unreal until he started roasting the wing back and tearing in along the wing.

Eoin McGrath (kenâs brother) gave me an awful roasting from midfield in an U21 challenge match years ago. He was Waterfordâs golden boy at underage level. I didnât know if I was coming or going.

I can assure you that Eoin McGrath was never Waterfordâs golden boy at under age level. Least of all by the time he was U21. He was a headless chicken who couldnât strike the ball. Eoin typically didnât know whether he was coming or going either.

Not even the second best and arguable as to whether he was the third.
Believe me Fagan, he was considered amongst the best in the county at U16 & Minor. I played against him with the club and school many times. Granted a lot of players developed better and passed him out between minor and U21 but he was still very fast and skilful. Good enough to play inter-county for many years
Itâs also fair to say that I was no Michael Fennelly

Paddy Kirby, former Limerick underage star, gave me a right skinning one time in a divisional underage game.
I also felt the wrath of Shaughs once. Thankfully he was switched into the Full Forward Line after 15 minutes. Awesome player.
Kerryâs Shane Brick gave me a nice roasting one time aswell, very skillful player. They switched a timber merchant over on to him and that did the trick. I didnt have that outright filth in me.
Niall Moran scored 1-2 off me in about 10 mins one time too, a fair operator when on his day
On the other hand I quietened a rampaging young Tom Condon one night in a club game, though he was 3 years my junior at the time. He was a tough fucker even at that age.
