Good fluidity and cohesion in the attack. Would imagine Commons will be off to Bolton in January, Johansen has done very well in an advanced role today.
Johansen has been excellent playing the advanced central role with Brown and Mulgrew behind him. Might be the best position for him - he was impressive away to Maribor in a similar role and has been disappointing playing a more traditional midfield role.
That was a nasty and completely unnecessary tackle by Gardyne on Izaguirre.

Agreed. Much more purpose to Johansen’s play in that position. It was only Ross County but Mulgrew looked more assured with Brown alongside him, than he did with Johansen there earlier in the season. There’s a nice blend to that trio with Brown’s energy and the different passing styles of the other two.
I don’t agree. We have Matthews, Mulgrew and Fisher who are capable of playing there. If we are tight about spending money then paying wages to a second string specialist left back shouldn’t be a priority. Our squad has been too big in recent seasons.
Look at how Izzy’s performances have tailed off over the last two seasons, every team needs two players for each position - particularly for such a specialised position. What you’re saying is the kind of horseshit Wenger has been coming out with for years.
It looked bad. He was stretchered off but it was hard to tell whether it was ankle or lower leg. Must see if there’s anything about it in the post match reaction.
