I had a bit of time to kill
He played in a forest team that got relegated
And then became the subject of the British record transfer
Roy Keane: Master of the 5 yard pass. sideways. or backwards.
. Forest and cloughie had a noble tradition of mugging off man united those times , Webb , Gary birtles etc ,
Ah yeah, they really mugged united off by offloading Roy Keane alright, great point
Poor man’s Mark Van Bommel
He was Dennis Wise in a leprechaun suit
Keane reminded me of the lad in the local gaa club who was fit as fuck, could do 100 laps and 1000 sit ups but not much good, he’d go all day
Had the pleasure of meeting Roy Keane at a charity do once. He was surprisingly down to earth, and VERY funny.
Fifty-two American diplomats and citizens were held hostage for 444 days from November 4, 1979, to January 20, 1981, with no access to newspapers, TV, etc.
Their first query when released was …“has Gary Birtles scored for Utd yet?”
Was yer man Billy Sheehan?
Have you ever done anything interesting in your own life mate?
your poster stats anoraking last weekend puts @Fran s blandness in the hapenny place
Prince among paupers?
Yep, I know of a players Mammy who was asked to help coach an underage team because they had absolutely no one else, thing is she wouldn’t know a football from a rugby ball, they’re in trouble alright
In terms of punditry, Sky Sports has decided to become the old RTE, while RTE has decided to become the old Sky Sports
What irony
Keane is a prick and I disagree with just about everything he says but, I’d still rather listen to him than just about any other pundit on Sky or BBC. It’s gotten to the stage now where I record MOTD just so I can fast forward the boring ramblings of Shearer and Jenas when watching it later
Bit early for panto season but Sky have the perfect villain here. He learnt from a half decent one in Dunphy too so he might say a few things that will get plenty of clicks and sure that’s what it’s all about these days.
