It was very poor man management from McCarthy. When you’re dealing with a player who is a much bigger name than you are, you don’t confront him in front of his team’s mates. Should have been done face to face or via an intermediary.

Roy Keane is very similar to ruby Walsh. Both outstanding at what they did, extremely successful, neither play up to the drunk mick stereotype and both are straight talkers. If a person has Those four traits in o Ireland you are guaranteed to be absolutely hated.

He kept it quiet though and it didn’t seem to impact his performance much.
An friend of mine is a psychiatric nurse and always reckon keane is the classic dormant alcoholic .
Often such people can be awful hard work although no doubt better for their family

Is a nurse qualified to judge who and who hasnt personality traits that lend to being an alcoholic from watching snippets on tv?
Maybe a psychiatric nurse?
They must be some people altogether being able to diagnose that from a few snippets on tv.

Even psychologists and psychiatrists are discouraged from diagnosing people they haven’t had on their couch
