Seems mad to base the seedings for it though off how the countries stand 3 years previously. Would make it more exciting to have the draw a couple of months before it and fuck it if the countries have only just played each other. These rugby heads dont really do suspense do they?

100 percent. An absolute disaster but wales had our number a few times.
David Wallace was a huge loss but it was definitely the one were we’d the age profile and the depth.

Wallace was a big loss but we still had Ferris, Heaslip & O’Brien who were all fit and playing well with Leamy on the bench. Very strong.
The defeat until the semi final loss to Clare in 2013 was the worst day of my life I’d say.
That Welsh team was unreal. North, Davies, halfpenny, Phillips, alyn wyn jones, Jenkins, Adam jones and an outstanding back row too.
The bet q of sexton is surely how didn’t he shake off o Gara from 09 to 11.
That was his World Cup. Probably a criticism of kidney too in how he didn’t look at sexton at 12. Darcy was on the wane by 2011.

Kidney did a great job getting Ireland over the line in 09. No doubt he had a lot more faith in O’Gara towards the end of his career than was justified though or at the very least he entertained ROGs “strong” personality
Sexton was very poor in a number of games though. It was o Gara who turned the game v Australia in 2011.
It’s always been the big question over sexton and it has been largely glossed over.
My memory of it is that Sexton started that world cup as first choice but his kicking went awry. O’Gara was a liability against that Crashball Welsh team.
Apparently Kidney went with O’Gara in the QF for his kicking game but then we didn’t kick anything! He was such a spoofer of a coach. 
He’d two years to put o Gara in to the bin but he didn’t. Sexton screwed a few kicks v the Aussies and was dropped.
I’ve been hearing about all his honesty this month but surprised nobody asked him about him. He just didnt strike me as a Tom Brady type leader anyway. It had to be all about him for him to perform which he did tbf but
Maybe at certain times for Ireland that wasn’t what they needed.
