England are in a state of transition and have a few passengers in their tema but in 3 years time they will be a very good side IMO…Aussies and Italy i don’t think we could have asked for a better draw…although we were due it seeing as we had the tough draw for the 2003 and 2007 world cups…

Well I think it’s fair to say we were due the tough draw after the IRB went out of their way to shaft Argentina by handpicking their opponents so they’d quickly drop down a seeding.
Anyway it’s a handy draw alright.

thats not bad from an irish perspective, getting out of the group is the vital bit and with that in mind Italy is the draw we wanted as we avoid scotland and fiji.
the australia bit is interesting, fuck knows what shape we will be in for 2011 but you would always fancy a crack off those cunts in the group stage.
the argie pricks in the group of death again, scotland and england might fancy their chances, again 3 years is a lifetime away.

If Wales won by 15 they would have been up to 4th. I would expect the top 2 seeds from each group to get through to the next stage

I think they lost out by a couple of points or something Locke. Not 100% sure though. We got Europe 2 instead of Europe 1 as well which might mean we avoid Georgia!
We MUST win our group to have even the smallest chance.
If we come runner up in our group then we play South Africa in the next round and if we win that we have to play New Zealand in teh semi finals at best.

Think its mad the way the papers are doing interviews with Kidney and O’Driscoll etc with their views on the draw - its nearly 3 fuckin years away. They might not even still be involved with the Irish team at that stage.
