In the two previous home test series New Zealand lost in the World Cup era, 1986 and 1994, both times they came back the following year with superb young teams.

Gatty isn’t rated in his native New Zealand.

His failure to beat the Southern Hemisphere sides is held against him.

They seem borderline obsessed with joe schidmt because he managed Ireland to beat New Zealand. It’s a little odd but their mentality in general is a little odd.
