Throw money on wales to win it out. Each way good bet. Ireland NZ France and SA in the other side of the draw

Is Gatty the greatest rugby manager ever?

Actually, donā€™t bother. We all know he is

Iā€™d say the better bet is not getting out of their group as Georgia Fiji and Australia all have their measure currently.

2 good shouts, depends if gatty is back

Now that the important business of the Championship is out of the way, the focus of the rugby community will start to switch towards the World Cup. Iā€™m going to sit down now for a while and have a look at the make up of the draw.

Hard to see Ireland blowing it from here.

Number 1 team in the world, Grand Slam Champions, beaten New Zealand away from home - would be catastrophic to not win it.

Good one mate

Iā€™ve had a look at the World Cup draw/permutations. Ireland have the toughest pool with the reigning champions South Africa and Scotland in it. I would still expect Ireland to negotiate it though. France or New Zealand then in a quarter final. That is as tough a draw as you could get. The bookmakers (who apparently are rarely wrong) have France as tournament favourites, New Zealand as second favourites and Ireland as third favourites. If Ireland could pull off an upset quarter final win, theyā€™ll make the final and I suspect probably win the tournament. The Quarter Final is key though.

Harsh on shane Daly and John hodnett I feel.

Hodnett particularly unlucky. Lacking a bit of size gone against him but he is a dynamo

The end of Joey Carbery. On the field at the final whistle every time Ireland have beaten the All-Blacks.

Earls, really? I never heard of Tom Stewart
