Russia Vs Ukraine (Part 1)

Ireland was/is free to join NATO. Isn’t there a UK Ireland defense agreement?

That wasn’t my question

Oh look here’s the grandstanding hypocrite weighing in again.

Anywhere you want to point out where you stood with Palestine and Yemen or are you the type of scumbag who exploits grave situations to make your bigoted political charges?

You’re a deeply nasty and cowardly person, of course deflect away from that. You consistently roll out victims of sexual abuse to make charges but are happy to turn a blind eye to to abuse victims of those you support. It takes a lowlife to exploit situations like these and that’s all you’re good for.

Am I right in saying that indirectly means an attack on Ireland is an attack on NATO?

Eg

Russia attacks Ireland
UK attacks Russia
Russia attacks UK
NATO joins in…

I wouldn’t be happy about it but as a non NATO member we’d be on our own.

We probably do need to look at our neutrality as part of this and in expectation that EU will now go down some military route. That will cue shrieking about our young men being sent to war but we can’t expect a free ride now defence wise.

It’s not like there’s not massive connections at other universities in Ireland are there are further Confucius Centres.

I’d say it was just clumsy.

Any actual war updates ?

More Turkish drones in the hands of the Ukraine army according to the Ukraine MoD - they’ve already done huge damage to Russian armour.

Kherson confirmed taken over by the Russians.

What made you change your mind about supporting Russia?

RT still going and still very funny

As non-NATO we do stand out like a sore thumb on the west of Europe.

There was talk that Putin might close down the oil pipeline or drop a mini nuclear bomb somewhere into the North Sea between Denmark and the UK. Just for a show of power and to stir things up. He’d be unlikely to do that now seeing as we found out his kids are in school in London. So the likely place to drop it now would be off the west coast of Ireland.

The invasion.

Why do you do look to exploit grave situations in a cynical way to spread your prejudices?

Paras in Kharkov. Will be street fighting

Yes I think so.

Edit: there’s more than that as well. We would use a clause in the Treaty of Lisbon which would require all other Member States to assist. That clause is apparently very similarly worded to the clauses in NATO:

Article 42.7 obliges EU countries to aid a fellow member state that becomes “the victim of armed aggression on its territory” by “all the means in their power”. This formulation is reminiscent of the better-known Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, which calls on NATO member states to assist a party being attacked “by taking forthwith … such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force”.

I also just don’t see the USA not responding to an attack on Ireland, neutral or NATO or not.

So, no I don’t consider us to be on our own. But I do consider us to be freeloaders.

Did you think Ukraine were going to be the aggressors previously when you said you’d be supporting Russia? That was quite thick of you if so
