That’s incredible footage.

The bullets are literally hopping off the ground beside them.

It’s remarkable. I’m here with your neighbour watching it.

What do they get paid ? It’s utterly mental. You’d think they’d have some local lingo instead of just shouting journalist.

War reporters are nuts/noble

I hope that’s true but can you source anything that has a more pessimistic angle? You’re doing fantastic reporting but we need to keep an eye on the downside here too.

At what point do the Ukrainians begin to starve? How are their supposed allies even getting weapons to them? Are they coming across the border via Poland? At what point will they start to run low?

The article is worth a read too. He describes the adrenaline rush in the moment and the dread that followed as it wore off and they began to worry they would come to find them in the warehouse.

It’s not about money. My war gone by, I miss it so is a fantastic insight into how they think.

Sure he plays for many city.

Money is only a minor detail in the grand scheme of things.

Glory to Ukraine!

Tony Connolly wasnt cut out for it. He got out of there are quickly as he could.

I think Charlie Bird stuck it out during the gulf war?

I was there. Surprised by it. Very opulent in the city centre and people a lot friendlier than I expected them to be

He reported from Kuwait City, if my childhood memories are accurate!

Its terrifying, @Cheasty is attacking the press a war crimes? I believe wearing the enemies uniform and pretending to be that army to attack perceived friendly forces is a war crime.

Hopefully footage like this keeps the shit for brains journo’s away

No, I think the opposite. Iraq invaded Kuwait to kick things off alright but I think the allies came in and sorted them out fairly quickly. All the action was then over the border in Iraq but Chaz was reporting from the relative safety of a fortified Kuwait City.

Tony Connelly’s wheelhouse is definitely 38 part Twitter threads decoding some obscure paper about the Northern Irish Protocol, as opposed to being an embedded war reporter. I actually found yer man Paul Cunningham’s reporting from the Polish border quite obtrusive. I know the plight of these poor people fleeing needs to be be highlighted but he was doing these pieces to camera up in their faces.

I’ve been consistently pessimistic about the barbarity that I think the Russians are willing to unleash, and indeed we have been seeing plenty of it.

Russia still only controls a very small part of the country so you would think that for the moment Ukrainians supply lines should be OK except in places like Mariupol etc. which are surrounded.

I would be very interested in seeing anything that painted a more rosy picture for the Russians as Putin would see it.

But I don’t see much if anything out there.

Fact, making a complete mockery of those javelin visors. Jesus Christ
