He has no-one in ukraine or Europe to negotiate with. Trump is the closest thing to an adult that can be mustered in the wesht. So either ukraine will accept terms or he’ll keep going until he controls the four contentious oblasts. If ukraine keeps fighting he’ll probably take odessa and kharkiv. He’ll be delighted to see eu membership for ukraine, nato is off the table, ukraine might get some notional security guarantees - they’ll mean nothing, but they’ll allow starmer and macron to act tough
