Any insight from McGinley as to likely foursome combinations? Can the McIlroy/McDowell on course partnership be renewed in light of whatâs gone on there over the past year or so?

McGinley, while a known bullshitter, has said that the McIlroy/McDowell relationship is as strong as ever.
That despite pubehead failing to turn up to McDowellâs wedding and shocking the genial Irishman by dragging him into this court battle that very same weekend. A truly horrible thing to do.
Interesting summation of where the case between McIlroy and Horizon stands at the above link.
Dearbhail McDonald had some interesting comments in the Indo a few weeks back on the timing of the issuance of McIlroyâs court proceedings.
Rory McIlroy has been accused of âorchestratingâ the timing of a contentious lawsuit against his former agent to clash with the Bahamas wedding of fellow golfer Graeme McDowell.
The sensational claim has been made by Horizon Sports Management, the Dublin agency Mr McIlroy is suing in one of the most bitter commercial actions to come before our courts.
Horizon, led by MD Conor Ridge, has claimed that Mr McIlroy issued legal proceedings against the agency in September 2013 to âinflict maximum reputational damage through the mediaâ on Mr Ridge and Colin Morrissey, his trusted lieutenant.
Horizon says Mr McIlroy knew both men were attending âG-Macâsâ September 28, 2013, marriage to Kristin Stape, an American interior designer.
Mr McIlroy, who strenuously denies Horizonâs claims, issued a lawsuit against Horizon on September 27, 2013 â a day before Mr McDowellâs wedding ceremony.
Mr McIlroy (25) from Holywood in Co Down and McDowell (35), from Portrush, Co Antrim, have long enjoyed a friendly rivalry on the worldâs fairways and partnered each other for Ireland at golfâs World Cup; Great Britain and Ireland at the Seve Trophy and Europe at the 2010 and 2012 Ryder Cups.
Both played last weekâs Irish Open at Fota Island, Mr McIlroy making headlines by revealing in his pre-tournament interview that heâd play for Ireland and not Team GB at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
Mr McIlroyâs legal team was at pains this week to stress that their client had âno issueâ with Mr McDowell, but it is feared the forthcoming litigation could place a strain on their friendship.
Mr McIlroy was conspicuous by his absence at Mr McDowellâs sun-kissed nuptials in Bakerâs Bay in the Bahamas.
But he says he was required for a Nike photo shoot in the UK that weekend.
In court papers, Horizon claims that Mr McIlroyâs team referred to Mr McDowellâs upcoming nuptials in emails as âD-Dayâ.
This has been hotly denied by the golfer who says the âD-Dayâ references related to the day when the lawsuit against Horizon would be filed.
In the legal wrangle, that shows no signs of settling, Mr McIlroy claims he was âunambiguously and consistentlyâ led to believe by Horizon that he enjoyed the same commercial terms as Mr McDowell.
Mr McIlroy has also alleged that Mr McDowell was a shareholder in Horizon.
But Horizon, which has counterclaimed against Mr McIlroy, has hit back.
It claims that documents it has obtained as part of the lawsuit show, âin graphic detailâ, the alleged lengths to which Mr McIlroy went in âorchestratingâ the timing of his legal proceedings.
Damage
The agency says the timing of the lawsuit and various public statements at that time by Mr McIlroy âcan only be interpreted as a premeditated exerciseâ to disadvantage Horizon and to inflict reputational damage against Mr Ridge and Mr Morrissey when he [McIlroy] knew they were going to McDowellâs wedding.
Mr McIlroy has refuted Horizonâs claims.
He says that he has no complaint with Mr McDowell and that the lawsuit against Horizon was filed on September 27, 2013, due to a âsimple gapâ that emerged in his hectic touring schedule.
A spokesperson for Mr McIlroy said that there is âno eventualityâ where it could see its side calling Mr McDowell as a witness in the proceedings.
The trial at Dublinâs Commercial Court is due to be heard next January.
Mr McIlroy, who is set to give evidence for at least two weeks, says that he got âmarkedly inferiorâ conditions â such as paying a higher-level commission on lucrative off-course earnings â compared to Mr McDowell.
He argued this was despite alleged representations they would get similar terms.
Mr Ridge, who has taken issue with the portrayal of Horizon as âsecretive and witholding documentsâ, has strenuously denied that he made such representations.
Last Monday, barrister Rossa Fanning, for Mr McIlroy, said the alleged representation by Mr Ridge was one of two âextraordinaryâ matters of which Mr McIlroy became aware from documents discovered for his case.
Mr McIlroy wants to amend his legal proceedings against Horizon and two other companies so as to make that claim.
Paul Sreenan, for Horizon and two defendant companies, said that the claim it had been represented to Mr McIlroy his terms would be the same as Mr McDowellâs was not part of his case to date.
Mr Sreenan said it was never represented to Mr McIlroy the terms to apply to him were identical to those of Mr McDowell.
Mr McIlroy was also aware since October or November |last Mr McDowell was a shareholder in Horizon, Mr Sreenan said.
World No 7 Mr McIlroy failed to make it beyond the 36-hole cut at the Fota Island Resort in Co Cork.
It was his sixth tournament in an eight-week spell in which the 25-year-old terminated his engagement to Danish tennis star Caroline Wozniacki and won the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth days later.
McIlroy should be stepped down by McGinley, he is divisive force in Team Europe and they would be better of without his poor attitude around the place.
Heâs also a pube headed prick.
I see Ryder Cup winning captain Bernard Gallacher has expressed his reservations about McGinleyâs suitability for the captaincy in the press today, despite his nephew receiving a wild card pick. Thatâs very honest stuff from Bernard but another potentially divisive thing to add to the team room mix.
Thats despicable behaviour from the Scot.
Bernard and McGinley will be part of an exclusive club of 2 by the end of the month - European Ryder Cup captains, who have lost to a Tom Watson captained Team USA.
A creepy article in The Guardian where the usually excellent Donald McRae has a creepy piece with McGinleyâs unbearably smug closest confidantes and friends. Creepy.
Digressing slightly from the golf, but here goes anyway. Had Sean OâRourke on in the car while driving yesterday morning. He had a lengthy enough preview of Sundayâs football final, with âexpertâ analysis from both camps. Six times All Ireland medal winner Darragh OâSe from Kerry and Mick McGinley (father of Paul) from Donegal. Mick unlike his son, doesnât feel the need to be all things to all men and loved by everyone. He was exceptionally cranky and belligerent. He completely lost the rag with Darragh OâSe, when it was suggested from a Kerry viewpoint, they would need to be a lot more streetwise in their defending than Dublin were and do a bit of sly jersey pulling or body checking or whatever it took to avoid conceding soft goals. When OâSe had the temerity to suggest that slack Dublin defending had a part to play in some of the Donegal goals, Mick blew his top again. Mick is off to Gleneagles on Tuesday and expects Coach Jim, a few of the players and Sam to put in an appearance at the golf at some stage over the long week ahead.
Team USA has arrived in Edinburgh Airport. Captain Watson looking extremely presidential, waving from the top of the steps. The players sporting a casual jeans, open collared shirt and blazer look. Itâs on. Itâs fucking on. USA! USA! USA!
McGinley wearing a tartan jacket as he welcomes them on the tarmac.
David Cameron and Ed Milibandâs attempts to curry favour with the Scotch were far less embarrassing than those of this imposter.
McIllroy was on Goals on Sunday yesterday. He said to expect some very interesting pairings later this week.
Captain Paul has shaken things up in the locker room by all accounts.

Wankers.
Team Europe practice three-balls:
McIlroy, Kaymer, Garcia;
Poulter, Rose; Gallacher;
Bjorn, Westwood, Donaldson;
McDowell, Dubuisson, Stenson.
Interesting press conference with McDowell where he claimed heâs better friends with McIlroy now than before. He said the reason they may not be paired together is because the dynamic has changed with them for golfing reasons only. He said he likes to take a leadership role and it was a case of him almost being a big brother to McIlroy in 2010 but now the latter is the leader in his own right with 4 majors. So he said theyâre more likely to kept separate but their partnership may be restored for foursomes.

Whoâs that you said partnered Garcia and Kaymer ??

Kimmage asks all the questions in that piece in fairness.
First time anyoneâs teased out how Darren Clarke tried to steal in and take the captaincy after earlier privately pledging full support for McGinley.
It wasnât that he changed his mind and decided to run for it without telling McGinley that upset him; it was the fact that once he knew he didnât command the support of the players himself, Clarke publicly backed Monty to take the captaincy again.
Their relationship has broken down as a result.
Itâs no surprise to learn that McGinleyâs father was a member of the British Navy.
The piece ends with a clearly made up anecdote from McGinley about an incident in a lift with an American golf fan. The man is such a bullshitter.[/QUOTE]
This McGinley creep in todayâs Irish Independent now clarifying that one of his anecdotes from the above mentioned piece with Kimmage was made up.
The one about Watson asking him how many majors heâd won and McGinley quipping âNone, but Iâve won 3 Ryder Cups.â
Now heâs clarifying that Watson didnât try to belittle him by mentioning majors and that exchange never happened.
Ah here, now heâs talking about how steely he is. A guy was giving him off the ball treatment in his first ever senior football game for Boden so McGinley shouldered him into the chest and yer man went flying over the sideline, smacked into a Ford Capri and was knocked unconscious. This is in todayâs Irish Independent too. McGinley appears to be some kind of Walter Mitty type fantasist. Isnât there a thread for this stuff? @farmerinthecity has a work colleague who makes up shit like this all the time.
Listening to Poults last night you can see that Ryder Cup is what stirs the Lions. Majors count for nothing this week, the only thing that counts is the warrior spirit.
