But I was thinking that in the same the way the Lions select the Vunipolas and Tuilangis etc., Tony Finau is of Tongan and Samoan descent, so he should be playing for Europe.

I would have great expectations that Rasmus Hojgaard could make the step up for Rome. He’s a three time European Tour winner at the age of 20.

Things looked bleak last night, but this morning I have hope.

Ooofffttt. There were serious misgivings in golfing circles when he was awarded the captaincy because he was said to have been one of the main ones courting LIV and he therefore shouldn’t have been rewarded for it. Especially ahead of a loyal European Tour man like Luke Donald or someone. Is he really going to head off to LIV after taking the captaincy? Presume he’ll have to give up the captaincy so? This could be a golfing civil war and it’s further evidence of a complete societal breakdown after Russia’s disgraceful antics in Ukraine, Tiernan Kelly’s eye gouge in Croker and the SCOTUS row back on Roe-Wade.
