I havenāt missed one shot of televised Ryder Cup action since Brookline in 2002. Apart from all the times I didnāt watch it. But itās like Christmas Eve for golf aficionados now, & Iāll make sure to catch the opening drives of the morning foursomes action before setting off on my long DCM training run.
Iām actually ashamed to admit my golfing knowledge isnāt what it once was. Itās hard to find the time to maintain TFK expert status when you now have more personal & professional commitments than in years past. In fact, I realised when Luke Donald was announcing his wild card picks recently that I hadnāt heard of some of the European players.
One such lad, Sepp Straka, is even fatter than my one time nemesis Shane Lowry & I see theyāre paired in match 3 tomorrow morning. I canāt see either of those fat fuckers being able to manage a second round in the afternoon, especially as Marco Simeone is a very hilly track. Fleetwood Mc anchor the foursomes for us & weāll need Big Jo(h)n Rahm to lead us off strongly with Jackie Tyr(r)ell Hatton. Hovland & Aberg (Iād never heard of the latter) are our other morning pair.
MacIntyre, Rose, the Danish chap & someone else I canāt recall complete our lineup. @Horsebox will provide a summary of Team USAās strengths & weaknesses later.

Im calling this as 2.5 - 1.5 in europes favour. Rahm/hatton to battle back for a half on the ninth. The vikings to hammer the yanks 5 and 3. Lowry and Straka, the burger boys, to be stricken 4 and 2. Fleetwoodās putts to carry rory to glory for 2 and 1 in the last.
