There were Celtic fans saying pre-match…ignore the teams involved, forget one of them are the (real) huns, we’re second so we should want the leaders to lose or if not draw. There were others saying…a hun loss is always to be welcomed & it practically removes them from the title race.
On the other hand, Celtic don’t have any margin for error at all now & the huns could effectively end Celtic’s title challenge next Sunday. But Hearts are at Motherwell on Saturday night before all that, & it’s not an easy fixture for them.
I’m finding this title push very draining and I’m only supporting the club 6 months and don’t really watch any of the games. I can only imagine what the Jambos age demographic who are Albert Kidd survivors are going through.
I was just reading some commentary and analysis on proceedings at Tynecastle yesterday evening. The Teddy Bears are not happy. No Scots saw action for Glasgow Rangers. An unbelievable state of affairs. They were crying out for a John Greig, Sandy Jardine, Sir Alex Ferguson, Graeme Souness, John ‘Bomber’ Brown, Richard Gough, Ally McCoist, Andy Gorman, Kris Boyd etc. Scottish and leaders of men who understood what it meant to pull on the royal blue jersey of Glasgow Rangers.
Would there have been many English playing for them? Shur wouldn’t they be fine with that, licking their arses?
Whatever happened to that lad from Dublin who used to play for Rangers?
Coach McCann has Kilmarnock purring. They’ve all but assured safety after a thumping 0-3 win at Love Street against Skol Cup winners St. Mirren who have collapsed in 2026.
I might catch the second half of the action from Fir Park. @ChairmanDan has mentioned the possibility of Motherwell & Falkirk rolling over for Hearts, like English sides apparently did for Leicester in their title win against the odds. But I understand there’s some bad blood between these sides from the earlier meetings this season & Berthel Askou was fairly forthright in his media stuff this week about Motherwell being determined to finish the season strongly. That said, they’ve been off the boil lately aside from their win at Rangers. There’s also the ongoing links to Berthel Askoi taking over at Celtic & Motherwell have on-loan Celt & Celtic fanatic Stephen Welsh starting tonight. Hearts seem to have gone 352 to try to match up with Motherwell’s midfield. McInnes likes to man mark in midfield & really spoil the opposition, & then play channel & direct balls to get Braga & Shankland involved in the final third (cc Footix thread).
