He’s Bill Coopers father

good player, fine servant of Waterford, better than the mullocker status some bestow on him

Wearing 14 and all there :eyes:

He got 2-47 in 58 games for Waterford, as a forward. I just checked that there. That’s an awful record for a lad in the forwards

53 in 58. Not great on paper

Breen got 34 in 19. Better alright but not remarkable. Even big John Carroll has more championship goals than Breen and he spent years in the backs

Big john played 10 games more than Breen and has 1 more goal

Carroll played as much if not most of his hurling at half back before being moved up the field

Let’s get back to the thread title

Great fella to have at centre forward and run at defences. Particularly effective if he had a gifted player or 2 to lay ball off to

He was a great bit of stuff.

All the lads with him on the fantasy hurling jumping in here.

This is serious lads

I probably mention it too much, but I loved Darragh Ryan and Prendergast boxing the heads off each other and flailing around on the ground inside the Wexford goal during our 2003 championship clash in Kilkenny. A little memory of one of my favourite Wexford matches ever.

He’s probably up there as an outstanding ball winner and carrier with 3 time All Ireland winner Timmy McCarthy.

Ah I’d have great time for players like Timmy and Pender.

Signing in. Outstanding.

He was the sort of lad you wanted in a team to stop a good half back or corner back from hurling. A great lad to mullock his way through backs and win frees. Terrible strike rate though.

A first ever Championship meeting of two of the titans of South East hurling.

It was a weak enough field in the 2 range for picks. My mate from Tipp and his brothers used call each other a Prendergast if they dropped a ball or generally something wrong.
