The best chipper in Ireland, If not the World.

Submitting a fraudulent report to the Limerick Chippers Group is a very serious offence. You better hope that The Dunph is in a lenient mood!

The Dunph has other things on his mind these days…

Luckily the Runt caught it. Dunph asleep at the Wagon Wheel again.
I was in Limerick today and got a bit peckish. Decided to seek out the Limerick Chipper of the Year '09 to see what all the Hoo Ha was about. I must commend the Limerick Chippers Social Group on opening my eyes to such a marvelous Establishment:clap::clap::clap:

Had a noble 1/4 pounder and chips by the way:clap::guns:

Keep up the great work:thumbsup:

No you didn’t. :guns:

only Paul o connell can do that.
Lucky i spotted your mistake here declan, the bosses were asleep on this one for a few days.

i would now immediately like to be offered membership and honorary vice secretary role. that is all.

The vice secretary is in-situ and cannot be removed until next years AGM.

If you were so interested in a role on the board, you should have made it your business to attend the AGM, fist. There were plenty of empty chairs there for you to take a seat on…

Vice Secretary, isn’t that the same as liason officer for the Railway Hotel?

you would have had to make me a member first.

True to my recent promise on this thread - I made sure I made the effort to visit Donkey’s during my time at home over the Xmas. After attending Avatar 3D at the Storm cinema on the 27th, I drove briskly in the direction of St Johns Cathedral in eager anticipation of my first feed of “Donkey’s” in many a year. Words can’t describe my disappoinment when the doors of this institution was firmly shut for business on that particular day.

Heartbroken… I made my way to the chipper in Groove Island. While the chips were fairly decent, I felt the quarter burger was barely average. Perhaps my disillusionment at missing out on a Donkey’s special of freshly cut chips and 3 finely battered sausages led to a slightly unfair assessment of the Corbally establishment.

The wait for my return to Donkey’s continues for now unfortunately.

That story brought a tear to my eye.
Hard luck Phil. Maybe next time. Chin up.

I’d place the blame solely in the hands of the Limerick Chippers Social Group. The group have a responsibility to keep all of it’s members and indeed the general public informed of the opening and closing times of the Chippers within it’s remit. Especially the Chipper of the Year.

I shall be hitting the markets field tonight and will report back after dining in either “cheap as chips” or Fusco`s

As I was leaving the Markets field and heading to “cheap as chips” for a review I got a phonecall from the Dunph “Luigi`s want a second chance after not making the poll” he said, So my destination had changed.

Saturday 16th Janurary 2010,

Luigi`s Parnell street Limerick

Food quality: 4
The chips were fresh, home-cut and from real potatoes. They were slightly too greasy though.I also sampled 2 battered sausage and a square cod. The square cod was the best I`ve ever tasted and the battered sausages were lovely too. Only mark down was for the slightly too greasy chip.

Value for money:3.5
7.10 For a large chip 2 battered and a square cod. The chips were overpriced at 2.50 and a large chip wasn`t that large but the 4.60 for 2 battered sausage and a square cod was very reasonable.

Staff appraisal: 4
The lady who served me was an eastern european and must know very little about chips but still she was fast as lightning and was easy on the eye. She also put copious amounts of salt and vinegar on my food

Efficiency of service: 5
There was a que and it was dealt with in a profesional and speedy manner, you couldn`t have got better

Facilites overview: 4
nice and clean, no arguments here.

Overall: 4
I`m glad the kick in the hole of not making the pole has improved the place but the chips are still that small bit too greasy, overall it was a very enjoyable experience though.
