Food quality: 4
The chips were fresh, thick but fluffy in the middle but with a pale exterior and not crispy.
The battered sausage was of good quality , the batter was nice and crisp without being overly thick.
Value for money:4
2 x single chips, 2 x battered sausages for the sum of âŹ6.20. There are a few signs in the establishment stating that the price of chips had to increase due to the increase in the price of potatoes.
Staff appraisal: 4
Had to wait a while for the chips to cook. Approx 10 minutes but the lady who served me was very pleasant and explained that I would have to wait. I was asked if I wanted salt and vinegar and also offered a plastic bad free of charge.
Efficiency of service: 4
The chips had to cook so I had to wait a few minutes which in fairness was not the staffâs fault. We in Limerick do prefer our food cooked fresh unlike the reheated stuff you get in Cork or Dublin so I didnât mind the wait. Once the chips were cooked there was no fussing about and I was on my merry way.
Facilites overview: 4
Two high stools positioned at a high counter near the window with a copy of the Limerick Post for customers perusal. Not much else going on.
Overall: 4
Fredas continues to produce quality food although the chips on this occasion were not crispy they were still demolished. The recent addition of doner kebabs, rolls and breakfast to the menu is also much appreciated.
Thank you Freda, family and staff.[/quote]
The food is ok in Fredas, but be carefull handing in a 50 note there. Iâll say no more!
Fuxake, half the forum eats and drinks within a few hundred yards of my house.
I can just about see Luiâs (formerly Luigiâs, formerly Slatteryâs) from my font door.
Ryanâs chipper (between Ryans Centra & the bookies) is pretty decent. However Shane Dowling works in the pharmacy next door - this is not good.
I must do a report on my next Friday evening visit
Right i havenât been on here in ages because to be honest when it comes to sporting discussions i prefer to take my business elsewhere! But i would like to offer my belated congratulations to Clare and a big well done to our lads for the way they never gave up and also well done to my near neighbour Seamie Harnedy from the St Itaâs club in Gortroe for his efforts this year. Now to the business at hand.I will be making my annual pilgrimage to the Treaty City in a few weeks time.I hear that the chippers in Limerick are supposed to be the finest in Western Europe!I would like to visit a chipper in the city centre and compile a review.Could someone please assign me a chipper in the city centre to visit and it has to be a chipper that serves burgers so thatâs Donkey Fords out!I would also like to express my sadness about the decline in standards in Luigis!
So basically you want someone to write a review for you! Thatâs not how this works.
