Review of the chipper in Grove Island(oddly enough there was no name over the door)

Food quality- Got the Quarter pounder meal, it was good without ever being great, got plenty of lettuce and onion in it but little sauce, a slice of cheese wouldnā€™t have went astray, the chips were good, home made and fine and thick although the portion was on the small sideā€¦All in all I would give them a 3

Value for money- ā‚¬ 5.90 for a quarter pounder and chip with a bottle of water is good value in anyones languageā€¦4

Staff apprasial- A nice friendly eastern european lady behind the couner who went about her business in a dignified manner. 4

Service- Food was out in a timely matter, canisters for salt and vinegar accompanying the food on the tray was a nice touch allowing the end user to apply as much as they wanted, although this was negated by the two measly ketchup sachetā€™s of some generic cheap brand, also i had to ask behind the counter for a key to the shitter. 3.5

Facilities- nothing too fancy, a jukebox and poker machine are there for the waiting customers entertainment but there seemed to be a few tears in the leather oppolstry of the booth i sat at, like I stated earlier i had to ask for a key for the shitter but it was clean enoughā€¦3.75

great work puke.

A chipper Iā€™m amazed I have forgotten to mention on here (or maybe I have and donā€™t remember) is Slatteryā€™s out in Raheen/Fr Russell Rd. Top notch joint.

you mentioned that to me before, i have heard good reports alrightā€¦

I forgot to say that if the chipper I reviewed was located in the likes of Galway/Cork/Dublin its scores would all have been around 4.5 or 5 but at the end of the day I was going by Limerick city standards

Great work Puke, others can learn from your example.

Thatā€™s two chipper reviews done and dusted now so whatā€™s keeping the rest of ye cuntsā€¦

Shape up or ship out.

Dunph,

I wish to apply for membership. Am a south east Clare native, very familiar with Limerick.

Good. Someday, and that day may never come, Iā€™ll call upon you to do a service for me.

Sign me upā€¦ Iā€™m partial to an odd Snack Box at 3am

Your location please?

An ā€œoddā€ snackbox isnā€™t enough. You should really eat out of a chipper at least twice a week to be a member of this group.

Also, by signing up you must agree to at least one chipper review each year. Currently, iā€™m reviewing the memberships of existing members who have not yet fulfilled this criteria.

I do my weeks work in Limerick. When thereā€™s drinking thereā€™s chipper visits, if I donā€™t get there twice a week Iā€™ll eat double the amount of chips each time. Thatā€™s efficiency.

Wilhelm,

What is your opinion of the Chicken Hut. Yae or Nae?

Best.
Question.
Ever.

Yours in I know the answer,
GSH.

Answer the question Wilhelm.

Thereā€™s probably some form of a trap here, but it is a definite Yae from Willhelm. Also love a bit of Kebabish too, but only after midnight.

Welcome Aboard Wilhelm

wonderful stuff out of all concerned.

Dunph,
might we expandd this grouping to chippers catering to the greater county of limerick?

Iā€™d be delighted to offer a critique of the food vendors of the more alpine parts of south limerick.

Phew, I was getting a bit nervy there for a few minutes. Iā€™d like to do a piece bigging up vinegar whenever I get a chance, tis great stuff.

I think that any chipper that is located in the greater midwest area could be included, but the fact of the matter is that Limerick City chippers are head and shoulder above muldoon chippers

Kebabish is quality but never had it sober.

Four Seasons pizza out by UL is unreal. 5 euro for a 9" with two toppings and its only savage. Garlic bread is excellent there aswell. Curry chips are of the old style variety with the thick powdery style curry which I love

I must give credit to the local chipper in west Limerick. Tasty paks, they do very good chips. The chicken can be hit and miss but when it is good. It is very good.
