This has always been a failing in Eire players’ mentality away from home.
Nearly 30 years since they beat a recognised football country away from home with many missed golden opportunities in that time.

In hindsight that penalty was a Godsend, cos they would have pushed on and scored had it not been notified given. Terrible thing to say bit true.
On paper, it’s a decent enough result, I’d have taken it beforehand.
But I’m a firm believer that you should take advantage of these kind of opportunities- Serbia were really poor today and definitely there for the taking. They could be a lot better by the time they come to Dublin if they get themselves sorted. Of course they may not, but I do think that was three points we could have got.
