Serie A 2013/2014

A very harsh second yellow sees Ricky Alvarez dismissed.

Napoli have been poor tonight and really donā€™t deserve to be winning. Benitez has gone very defensive playing against 10 men here for the last 15 minutes having just taken off Higuain for another midfielder.

Icardi about to come on.

Callejon surely seals it after tapping in Insigneā€™s squared ball.

Icardi on for Campagnaro. Inter gone to two at the back.

Pandev misses a penalty in injury time.

Terrible news for us Serie A fans as the betting sites such as Bet365 and Betfair seem to have lost the rights to stream Serie A games.

Initial reports are that Guiseppi Rossi has torn his cruciate ligament for the third time this evening. That is is WC chances and possibly his career over

:frowning:

Thatā€™s horrible.

Get well soon Beppe.

Ah thatā€™s a shame.

Donā€™t think it was that bad a challenge in fairness.

Good news for Beppe Rossi as he has only damaged his medial ligament as opposed to his cruciate. He is expected to be out for 3 months which should be plenty of time for the World Cup.

Kakaā€™s 100th goal for Milan has them 1-0 up at HT at home to Atalanta.

Napoli defeated Sampdoria earlier with Dries Mertens scoring twice.

di Natale will retire from football at the end of the season. A beacon of integrity and honour in what tends to be the murky murky world of Serie A and Italian football, itā€™ll be a shame to see a Serie A season kick off without him. One of the greats of Italian football in recent years and a thoroughly alright sort.

A man who doesnā€™t have a place in his heart for di Natale, is a man who is incapable of love.

The 36-year-old Udinese striker has revealed that the 2013-14 campaign - his 18th professional season - will be his last in the game

Udinese veteran Antonio Di Natale has announced that he will retire from professional football at the end of the current season.

The 36-year-old confirmed to Sky Sport Italia following his sideā€™s 3-1 home defeat to Verona on Monday that the current campaign would be his last.

He said: "At the end of the season, I will stop. I have already spoken about it with my family.

"Iā€™ve decided this is my last campaign. It all ends in June.

ā€œIt does hurt, because Iā€™ve scored more goals for Udinese than Iā€™ve gone out for dinner with my wife. I care about Udinese, as this club is like my family.ā€

Di Natale has been one of the most prolific Italian forwards of his generation, winning consecutiveCapocannoniere crowns as Serie A top scorer in 2010 and 2011.

In 10 seasons with Udinese, Di Natale has scored 189 goals in just 362 appearances to become an all-time legend of the club.

He previously starred for Empoli, the club who he began his career with.

Di Natale has also earned 42 caps for the Italy national team, scoring 11 times and participating at two European Championships and the 2010 World Cup.

He played in three international tournaments for Italy and shit his pants in the lot of them. A guy who asked to be subbed after he missed a crucial penalty, a guy who was scared to test himself at a big club, his club have consistently embarrassed Italy on the European stage.

I have no place in my heart for Di Natale. I will always remember his pathetic displays in major international tournaments, a guy who brought his small club mentality on tour in the famous royal blue and cracked under the pressure.

Bryan Cristante was finally given a chance by Max Allegri today and scored in the 3-0 win against Atalanta - Kaka got the other. He is extremely highly regarded in Italian football and many believe he will develop into one of the best midfielders in the world, it will be interesting to see how he progresses if given more regular football.
