Serie A season 2011/2012

I don’t like Di Natale. He was abysmal everytime he played for the national team, despite possessing a decent scoring record with them.

Cassano’s open letter on the Milan website:

Dear friends, I just wanted to express my gratitude, on behalf of myself and my family, for the well wishes that have poured in over the last few days. Whatever sadness or difficulty I felt was soon replaced by the show of affection from people all over the world. The President, Silvio Berlusconi, Adriano Galliani, Massimiliano Allegri, the doctors Tavana and Mazzoni, all the staff, my team mates and everyone involved at Milan have constantly been close to me. Thanks to them and the doctors who have taken care of me I was able to face this strange ‘injury’ with courage.

I would like to send out a hug to all those who have shown their support and made me feel important by coming to the Policlinico of Milan or through the numerous messages sent to me. I would like to dedicate a huge thank you to all the people at Real Madrid, particularly the President Florentino Perez and the coach Josè Mourinho.

Now I will rest as much as possible at home and will be glued to the television when Milan are playing, or when Italy are playing. Also I will be following the developments in Genoa, a city that remains in my heart and that I know will soon recover from problems of recent days. I will do the same and I promise that I will be back on the pitch as soon as possible.

Big hug to everyone, and thanks!

Antonio Cassano

Milan are expected to sign Montolivo for €3m in January.

What a sensational job Galliani has done with Milan in the past two or three seasons. The whole Milan squad was probably more cheaply assembled than what Liverpool have spent in the past year!

Very true regarding Galliani, Totti. Allegri was full of praise for Zlatan in this morning’s Italian press. He described him as more important to Milan than Messi or Ronaldo are to their teams and basically said he was the best player in the world.

The legendary David Pleat supplying commentary on ESPN tonight.

What a fantastic display by Artur Boruc tonight.

2nd play 3rd tonight as Juve take a trip to Rome to play Lazio.

I fancy Juve to take Lazio tonight, they have a nice balance and create loads of chances. Lazio are well drilled but quite functional and I can’t see them scoring more than once tonight.

Lichsteiner has been superb early on here, already teeing Marchisio and Matri up for good chances.

Some save from Marchetti from a wonderful long range free by Pirlo. Lichsteiner missed a great opportunity on the rebound.

Rocchi very close to giving Lazio the lead.

Pepe wastes a great chance there after a wonderful pass from Pirlo.

Great game so far, much better than that Spanish shit.

Juve lead courtesy of a goal from Pepe.

Lichsteiner is challenging Abate for the best full back in the league.

Hernanes hammers one off the post.

This is a very good game indeed. Lazio pressing hard but Juve picking them off well on the break and going close themselves a few times.

I think I got it wrong on Matri. He was excellent tonight.

Matri going very close there, he’s been fantastic tonight.

A very professional performance from Juventus.

They will be hard beat this season. A must win game for Napoli in midweek after their defeat tonight.

Napoli have a got a late equaliser from Cavani, still a must win game this Tuesday though.
