In. Though only just

It could be the quietest winter ever on here if the @Limericks and @Galways have an All-Ireland each to content them

Iā€™ll have to check the record books but I donā€™t think thereā€™s ever been an occasion when Limerick and Galway have held the two senior titles.

EDIT - There has been. 1934.

Signing in. Weā€™re going to do it because, as has historically been the case with every Galway team that ever won an All Ireland, we have a Dunmore MacHales clubman on the team.

I hope this one gets an encore

Great scene with Micko in dressing room after game

Pat Comer was truly the Werner Herzog of Galway GAA.

Didnā€™t realise Mick Byrne of Republic of Ireland fame was physio for Galway in 98ā€™. Where is he from? Always assumed he was a Dub.

Comer has been back filming with the team this year. Surely couldnā€™t strike gold again?

The Maroon and White.
I dreamt itā€™d wear the jersey
on all Ireland final day
itā€™d stand out there in Croke Park
with a mighty part to play
weā€™d come out of the tunnel
to a great big Galway roar
weā€™d have our picture taken
head down to the goal
weā€™d line up with the captain
and march behind the band
and when they played the anthem
weā€™d face the flag, above the stand
cos me heart is in maroon and white
itā€™ll stick with what i know
maroon and white forever
no matter where i go
and when the ball comes towards me
i turn and head for goal
and i stick it in the corner
like a bullet hard and low
and i dreamt itā€™d hold the medal
so precious in my hand
with the people all around me
and the ghosts up in the stand
then on Monday evening
weā€™d bring the cup back home
bonfires would be blazing
all along the road
cos me heart is in maroon and white
itā€™ll stick with what i know
maroon and white forever
in hailstones, rain or snow
yes maroon and white forever
thatā€™s what i always say
maroon and white of Galway
forever and a day.

Finglas. He was with Erinā€™s Isle on their run to the All-Ireland club final that year.
