one of the greatest games of rugby of all time

Some semi final weekend of rugby in London. Australia v South Africa which went to extra time on the Saturday, then New Zealand v France on Sunday. I was at both of them.

Harry Ryan, former Kilkenny hurler, has died. His brother Lester had died earlier this year.

A 3rd brother Johnny died a few years back in a farming accident.

Jaysus, that I didn’t know. Some families get more than their fair share of pain.

Giscard d’Estaing

Hell of an innings. Born in Koblenz begob, a child of the Versailles Treaty.

Jesus I presumed he died decades ago

The Covid got him in the end.

(Catchng up here) I was very sad to hear of Robert Fisk’s death. A remarkable writer. His ex missus Lara Marlowe had a nice piece about him in the Irish Times the other week.
@fagan I’m not sure how you can say he was an anti semite. Anyone who has read the opening passage of Pity the Nation would think otherwise.
