Legendary ice hockey player Gordie Howe has passed away aged 88.
Donāt think Stephen Keshiās death a few days ago has been mentioned.
Nigeria captain at the World Cup in 1994 and manager in 2014. Also led Togo to the 2006 World Cup before being bizarrely replaced. Probably the most successful African manager of all time and one of only two men to win the African Nations Cup as both a player and a manager. Also the fifth member of that 1994 squad to die.
Iām looking forward to hearing the thoughts of the oracle of African football, Mark Gleeson, on Keshiās impact on African football, when he next appears on the World Football Phone-In on 5 Live, .
Iām led to believe the second captains lads did a piece on him during the week. Iāll probably listen to it during the weekend although the springboca junior would have the first say.
