This is sad too. He grew up on the road my granny lived on off the Whitworth Road and I recall kicking ball with him on the street a few times when I went up there.

Thatâs absolutely chilling news about Ciaran. Life can promise so much and small things can go against you and as an athlete you can simply watch it all go up in smoke so easily. He seemed a really good kid and it was awful to watch the turmoil heâd go through when another major tournament ended in heartbreak due to injury.
Thatâs just awful. God rest him.

I wont dig them up now, but I recall some of his post race interviews, especially at major championships, were traumatic affairs. He struggled shocking with injury, especially unfortunately in the lead up to the majors. To my recall, he was someone who was spotted young, went to America, had great potential and ran some very good times against some of the best in the world, but sadly it never happened for him at the big ones, and he struggled a lot with that, as would any athlete. Ah its very sad news, the life of an athlete is a lonely one. Hadnât heard mention of him in a long time.
