Not unsubstantiated.
Some epic hypocrisy from some posters here.
Much as im breaking out in a rash agreeing with @myboyblue and @Mac, they are right in this case kev and you are in the wrong and by using the innuendo in tbe way you did you are casting aspersions on all of the above names and not just the 2 you allege drank tbemselves to death
There is no innuendo. It is Egan andPaudi. Itâs was really matter if fact in my own head. I presumed everyone knew and I didnât have to be incredibly specific about everything. MBBâs typical irish response irked me.
By your own admission itâs unsubstantiated.
Did everybody know Paddy Cullen was Mr. X?
Everybody in every pub in Dublin circa 1993/94 thought they did. But the rumour was completely untrue.

Good comparison.
Thanks, Kev.
I knew. Iâll back you up pal.
Youâre some sad case. Wait to see the way the wind is blowing then row in all guns blazing with your moral indignation. You make my skin crawl you spineless vile toad.
Get to fuck I was the first to pull this up
Appreciate it and all, but I donât need any back up cheers.
The horse was a massive drinker too by all accounts. Alcohol must have been a contributary factor in all three surely. Sad to see 1/5 of the greatest team of all time gone well before they should have. Itâs one of the prices of success in small town Ireland. Easy develop and sustain a problem when everyoneâs default response to meeting you is to buy you a pint.
On Paidi - did he not die of a heart attack?
Youâll probably say this was as a result of drink but I havenât heard any evidence of that.
I have heard the stories about him being a legendary drinker as well, but this doesnât mean that because he died relatively young it was because of drink. I have heard loads of stories of people I know and donât know being legendary drinkers and they live a full and fruitful life. He was certainly a very active man in terms of training teams, politics and public engagements.

Fair enough, believe what you want. But I know for a fact there was more than one visit to tabor lodge. Now why would someone go there? What else causes heart attacks to relatively young men? It can be the stress of try to support other ailing organs. Alcohol drives up blood pressure etc. I canât believe this has to be spelt out.
Iâm not trying to degrade any if the mans achievements, and there were incredible. We all have issues, in Ireland drink is a ridiculous issue. The safety of being at home and the fact tht so many people drink heavily kinda playâs it as acceptable in Ireland.
It should be treated the same way smoking is. You ask any cop or doctor what the biggest issue in Ireland is and theyâll tell you drink. Not drugs or anything else, itâs drink.

drink is a drug, how people realise to see this is beyond me.
Usually The only ones who cop it are the unfortunate ones who see devestation up close. Or the smart ones who kept it balanced always.
