Out of respect for those 2 lads and their families I’m not going into this at length. But at the same time there is no point in ignoring reality and the true sadness behind those 2 great footballers and men passing away. One was something we could witness happen on our way home from school every evening, or when I worked in a local pub in my teens.

What are you on about? Why would I want to know much about the private lives of four footballers from counties I have no connection to who retired 25-30 years ago?

I think it’s poor form to give a list of four names and make innuendos about “at least two of them” - ie. you think you know about alcohol playing a part in the deaths of two of them but aren’t sure so you’ll mention the other two in connection anyway.

Being a small town hero cos you can drink 20 pints is part of the issue. Alcohol is a far bigger issue than drugs yet all over the world money is poured into sorting drugs. It’s farcical.

Because these people are well known you would hope they would positively influence others with the truth and the dangers.
