Significant people's (not celebrities) deaths

Wrong thread, a true Irish celebrity,
RIP

Ah here it’s lessons on threads you need , not love!

I was both Boon and his brother Phil’s accountant for many years. Nice lads.

Eugene McGee.

RIP.

RIP

Was he ill ?

Just seen it on RTE now.

Said he took ill at a family function and passed away this morning. Aged in his late 70’s.

Always liked listening to him. Just told it how it was. Along with Darby, the man who stopped the 5-in-a-row.

By God I’m saddened by this news. I watched the documentary about the 1982 final over Christmas and thought he was a great character.

Considered him a right contrary cunt before that though.

He was always interesting to listen to and never sought to be liked . There was never any small talk . RIP

Straight as an arrow. No pussy footing around anything, shot from the hip. As I said I always liked hearing his views on anything GAA related.

That documentary a few months back about that Offaly win was terrific. As much for the off field elements - the recession, the ESB in the Midlands, the effect on Darby afterwards, Matt Connor etc - as beating Kerry.

Was ahead of his time… Non nonsense type…thought he looked shook on that offaly programme at Christmas…by all accounts there used to be slaughter when his UCD played Vincent’s in the dublin championship in the 70’s…

R I P

They reckon the Sigerson Cup games between his UCD & Dave Weldrick’s Thomond College were legendary

RIP Eugene Magee

RIP. A wonderful man.

RIP to Eugene McGee. I’ve been in his company a few times and always think the word taciturn was coined for him.
That said he was a straight shooter and the light of Heaven to him.
