There was very few people brave enough to call out the Catholic Church on the covering up of child abuse at that stage. ‘Everybody knew but nobody said’. It was incredibly brave to do what she did at that time. It probably ruined her career but history has vindicated her.

Sure Hispanics alone are now roughly 20% and close to 100% would identify as Catholic. That’s before getting to the Irish, Poles and Italians.

Years ago we had the church. That was only a way of saying – we had each other. The Knights of Columbus were real head-breakers; true guineas. They took over their piece of the city. Twenty years after an Irishman couldn’t get a fucking job, we had the presidency. May he rest in peace. That’s what the niggars don’t realize. If I got one thing against the black chappies, it’s this – no one gives it to you. You have to take it.

I read recently where she had given up weed after 30 years of smoking the stuff.
Not the most advisable carry on smoking it when you have mental health issues I would suggest but that’s looking at it from the outside.
