Sinn Fein - Populism and Partionism

Yeah.

Itā€™s a complete and utter non-story but youā€™ll still have simpletons like Farmer getting reeled in hook, line and sinker without every questioning what it is they are supposed to be irate about.

Why were you pointing it out?

Because I felt like it.

Ok mate.

I can see youā€™re a little embarrassed by the Sindo having you so easily so Iā€™ll let it slide.

That was my first time to see that article, or any other article on the matter.

I posted it up so as to tease out what was going on.

I wasnā€™t taken in or out by anything.

You posted up an article from the Indo without reading in a thread used to bash SF?

Seems you had a bit of an agenda here but I accept your backtrack.

Iā€™m letting it be known now, I am open to SF canvassing me about my vote. Can someone get that added to the CSV file?

Youā€™d have to wonder why this isnā€™t being given more attention by RTE

A thread used to bash SF? I thought this was the general SF thread.

Someoneā€™s back was up before they even read the post.

I did read the article. I wasnā€™t aware of the whole alleged background to it as I have said.

Yes - look at the title.

You should have used the look over there itā€™s SF thread.

Itā€™s the same transparent playbook as usual. The same connotations as when that attention seeking young wan left SF to join the Soc Dems when her neighbour asked her to stop posting negative stuff about SF on social media. There was the ā€œsinisterā€ knock on the door etc etc, even though she said herself it was a family friend and there was nothing sinister about it.

This is along the same lines, with shady SF figures storing peopleā€™s personal details, even though all parties keep track of the electoral register and would identify areas/households/individuals to draw support from/ignore/canvass etc etc.

I thought the Belgian owners might bring about some balance to the (S)Indoā€™s political coverage but itā€™s more of the same really. At least challenge SF with relevant stuff rather than this sideshow nonsense.

yet at the same time a blueshirt teen was summoned to a beach in killiney by jennifer carroll mcneil and was met there by jenny and a heavy from FG HQ, yet bugger all coverage on it apart from SBP

TBF most people are educated to see above these cheap and crass stories and itā€™s probably a driver of the SF vote building mechanism. The funniest thing is you have loads of @john3212548 on Twitter going round bashing SF on every news article and complaining about Shinnerbots who are actually genuine accounts.

Anyone who is not earning over 100k a year who votes for FFG really must be a complete simpleton.

A councillor in Meath left the party after factions of FG attacked him at a conference and burned his car out and the party failed to take any action on his complaints.

Of course no coverage of that either.

Iā€™ve a relation that works in one of the regional titles owned by the Indo. He says a lot of staff nationwide canā€™t understand why the editorial line remains so adversarial and hostile to SF. He means in the sense, as Iā€™ve alluded to, that any political party should be held to account for stuff they do but thereā€™s an ongoing petty vendetta against SF from the likes of Philip Ryan, yer man Kevin from Offaly not to mention the headbangers in the Sindo like Eoghan Harris and Eilis Oā€™Hanlon. Theyā€™re now a subscription business and theyā€™re essentially drawing a line through 25%-35% of the population who wouldnā€™t dream of subscribing. Iā€™m personally a massive Martin Breheny fan but I havenā€™t read one of his top 10, 20 or 100 lists on the Indo in around 4 years now.
