I call it football. Iâd use soccer occasionally when talking to boggers who dont understand these things. Itâs no surprise because 95% of lads who grew up playing Gaa sports can barely kick a ball properly. These lads use their time playing 5 a side to shoulder lads into walls and try to break them up while tackling. Must be grand being an oaf all the same.

Hold on, Ireland is an open and cosmopolitan society. You can say most Irish People call it soccer. New Irish and some other minorities might know it as football, but they can still be Irish.

Not sure which post youâre replying to, but anyway, what I was saying was that GAA is very much a minority sport in Derry city. At least some of he reasons for that are laid out in the v good article posted by @Ashman
