Sinn Fein - Populism and Partionism

I mean if it is the case that she has lied about telling them about the texts on August 2nd, surely her credibility is totally shot. Already the €60k text and false photo is pretty bad for her.

If she isn’t lying on that, more questions for SF really. Already it was not credible the idea that they were told about Stanley’s allegation on September 11th and MLMD wasn’t informed about it.

Yer wan’s blackmail texts have secured Stanley’s re-election.

Stanleys seat was always secure

If you believe the story about the well constructed blackmail threats being sent “in a state of shock” 2 days after a night in which nothing actually happened, then I have a lovely bridge for sale.

What do you think is going on here?

Praying on naivety.
Do you believe that someone was in such a “state of shock” 2 days after staying in a hotel room with friend or acquaintance, completely unmolested, that the horror of it all led them to think “I know, I’ll send an owl blackmail”
Then “whoops”

Without knowing any further detail than what has been in the paper - I’d say his main offence was being very naive. If SF found him guilty of sexual harassment - purely on the the basis of sharing a room with her it seems pretty harsh. The blackmail attempt a couple of days later seems like a far more deliberate wrongdoing

He was found guilty of misconduct I think. Which simply could be putting himself into that situation. I’d imagine there’s a code of conduct and he would fall short of it.

Granted 99% of SF probably would too

The unmolested bit, maybe he could only send half the money?

Anytime I get a fright or have a bit of a land from something, I immediately, 48 hours later, look for money evenly partitioned (pun intended) in envelopes. It’s a natural instinct.

Can’t trust Sinn Fein shadowy figures….we’re normal and respectable, no bullshit here.

I get a general feeling from a lot of folk of a certain age in the south, say 50+ and definitely 70+, where they don’t want to vote for FG and FF, they most certainly won’t vote SF.

My argument is what sort of party has TDs who share rooms with people capable of blackmail. That says it all about who the party associates with still

Could just be Laois people.

You’re in for an an awful shock when you google ‘FFG corruption’

Great banter; they don’t do Dail debates like they used to

Joe was great

I’m sure you’re right, though FFG aren’t of village idiots either. Most politicians are actually shrude in real life the very odd time you’d meet them, or at least are excellent at role playing.

Maria McCormack to run as Stanley’s replacement in Laois. She wasn’t fit to get in in the recent local elections where she ran beside Stanley’s wife Caroline, so they’ll need the people to vote SF and not the candidate you’d feel to take on Stanley who confirmed he’ll be running as an Independent.

Caroline Stanley is still in SF and recently took up a role on some Brussels somewhat or other on behalf of the party.

SF Laois look like a fearsome operation.
