In fairness, the great man has responded magnificently to his Australian Open setback. There was no shame in losing to Verdasco at the time - he took Nadal to 5 sets later in the tournament - but it was disappointing all the same.
But Muzza’s been excellent since. He beat Nadal in one final and has now beaten Federer in Indian Wells tonight. Fed wasn’t very gracious at the end - he must be annoyed at becoming Muzza’s bitch having lost to him for the 4th time in a row.
On the word of my Tennis gambling advisor (Rintintin) I have backed Nadal to win this tonight at 4/6. Looking good so far.
The slower surface should suit Nadal but the high wind will be against him, going well so far though up a break in the first.

Another smashing day for British and Irish tennis. Andy Murray today became the first British or Irishman to win the Queen’s title since Bunny Austin in 1938. It was also the youngster’s first ever grass court title so hopes will be raised amongst British and Irish tennis connoisseurs ahead of Wimbledon.
Wimbledon should be interesting now alright, I hope Roddick is OK, would like to see him go on a decent run on Wimbledon, win his quarter maybe.
Tommy Haas won the event at Halle beating Djokovic. Decent outside chance at Wimbledon as he can beat anyone on his day and a likable player. Would be assuming that Muzza will make the semis anyway - saw some highlights of the final and he’s playing with a lot of confidence.
