Every Irish sports bulletin I heard today referred to Andy winning beacuse Nadal retired injured. No mention of the fact that he was being murdered when threw in the towel.

This is all set up for Andy to win. He has to seize this. Funnily enough - I reckon Cilic might be a bigger obstacle than Federer. Cilic is a good player and the tradition of the Australian Open throwing up a surprise finalist could concievably be replicated with him. The fact he beat Andy at Flushing though will go against him and its difficult to see Andy not avenging that defeat and reaching his second Grand Slam final.
The more I see of Federer the less chance I give him of beating Andy. It was bizare stuff from Federer this morning. Pure up and down, a bit like a more extreme version of the US Open final against Del Potro except in a lower quality of match. Federer wonāt be too happy about facing Tsonga instead of Djokovic. Tsonga is a streaky player who you just wouldnāt know what heād do.

Federer is still a machine lads, huge lack of respect for the great man here. 13 games in a row is unbelievable tennis in the quarter final of a grand slam. We wonāt see him like again for quite some time. Sad to see how Nadal has gone, it was always suspected that his knees wouldnt be able to stick his high paced game and it seems to be bearing this out. Unlikely that he can change his style the way an Agassi did when he got older.
