I was hoping despite Sexton being included in the original 35 man squad that Humps would get the nod. Don’t see any logic in picking the Leinster man ahead of him. Who picks the A team is it Kidney or Bradley?
Still should be interesting to see how a few of other players like Cave and Ross do.
Think Kidney picks the A team as I heard it on a few news bulletins, but that probably means fook all.
Only logic I can see in picking Sexton is that he needs a confidence lift after the way Cheika has been treating him lately.

Ya Lar, they are the 2 i’m more interested in as well. I like yourself would have picked Humps, but then i’m a big man for picking “on form” and the guys who have actually been playing. But thats not really the Irish way, with any sport.
Would be great is Ross was up to it, i would have to take back anawful lot of slagging about him, but who cares once he does it for Ireland.
The French have a different way about them…
Looking ahead to a daunting year for France, beginning with Croke Park and with Twickenham to come, before a summer tour to New Zealand and Australia, followed by November Tests against New Zealand and South Africa, French captain and 2nd Row, Lionel Nallet admitted 2009 will be ‘tres compliquee’.
“But it is good, we need hard matches to write our story, our adventure. Defeats are part of it, but victories also help to write beautiful pages. Overall, in 2009, our objective is to continue to make progress, never to find ourselves in a situation of going backwards in relation to the previous outing.”
This has been the theme, he says, of the squad’s meetings in Marcoussis, to try and create “something strong”.
“Trying to win this tournament, for example, trying to make our mark, we must build. Sometimes that happens through defeats like the one against Australia in November. You learn a lot in defeat, but we also want some good victories.”

Ellis replaces Care in England team
Harry Ellis will start at scrum-half for England against Italy on Saturday after Danny Care failed to recover from an ankle injury. Care suffered strained ligaments after turning his ankle during training on Tuesday and was finally ruled out this morning.
Ellis, who was initially promoted from the Saxons squad as injury cover, will now go straight into England’s starting team, with Northampton’s Ben Foden remaining on the bench.
London Irish scrum-half Paul Hodgson will take Ellis’s place in the Saxons team to play Ireland A at Donnybrook tomorrow night.
England manager Martin Johnson said: “On behalf of the squad we all feel for Danny and wish him a speedy recovery. Harry is an experienced international and I’m sure he will do a good job for us on Saturday.”
from breakingnews.ie
Full-back Rob Kearney is an injury doubt for Ireland’s Six Nations starter against France at Croke Park on Saturday.
He picked up an ankle injury at training on Tuesday that was expected to clear up in time for the weekend.
However, the progress has been slower than hoped for and intensive physiotherapy has not done the trick yet.
It is likely Geordan Murphy would be selected to play in his absence and Girvan Dempsey would come onto the bench.

“has not done the trick yet”

If those results come through we’ll win the 6N.
I think there is nothing more unpredictable than a Welsh champion, they seem to take the eye off the ball.
