Its alright, Bandage is always making stuff up about Paul O’ Connell as well.
Fantastic result and very good performance yesterday. The result sets us well up for the rest of the Championship. European rugby has been righly criticised over last few months but the standard and pace of the game yesterday was something else.
Reading some of the posts on here is a little frustrating though. This whole bull of point scoring between Leinster/Munster fans is a bit much. It is not only divisive but it is as if Ireland consisted only of two provinces. All the talk in RTE ztudio straight after the game too was directed at the Munster Leinster influence too while players from Ireland’s most successful province historically were ignored. Ferris was superb he hit everything that moved and was a real threat with ball in hand. He didn’t get the ovation he deserved when comeing off. Wallace performed very well at the breakdown though had little ball in hand. Nobody ran through him in midfield as a previous poster alluded too. Deligted O’Driscoll got the try and he looks to be back in good form. Bit of weight he seems to have lost has probably helped him. Was pleased that Flannery got his throwing right too and he had his best game in an Irish shirt for a long time.
I agree with MBB. It was a wonderful Irish victory and it’s disappointing to see some of our correspondents being so grudging in their praise of the match winning performers such as Heaslip, O’Driscoll, Kearney, D’Arcy and Fitzgerald. There was also some important Didier Deschamps style water carrying by other players, which laid the foundation and allowed the Zidane like flair of some of our eastern seaboard born players to rise to the surface.
What poor tackling from Wallace? His defence has improved considerably over past few months.
Ferris says he spent the last few years of Humps career making his tackles for him, helped him hone his skills he said.
It has, but he missed one yesterday and was physically he was in big trouble and Jouzion ran over him more than once.
Paddy did indeed look very lightweight in that midfield.
And the BBC commentating is absolutely appalling, before, during and after the match.

His singing of the national anthem was also less than inspiring.
The official stats have both ROG and wee Paddy Wallace down for two missed tackles each.
Larry you have a bit of a chip on your shoulder about Ulster not getting the recognition they deserve.
I have no problem giving them credit where its due, and have done on plenty occassions on here. Yesterday though I thought Wallace was average at best, having him and ROG together is a massive target for any back row, maybe they could switch him to 13 on defense. I would play him against Italy, he deserves another chance, especially as the game seemed to pass him by a little yesterday, whether through tactics or the fact that he shipped a heavy knock.
Ferris played well, but both him and Wallace were very much in the shadow of Heaslip yesterday. I thought he tired in the second half as well.
Dan if you have tackling statistics or a link to them could you throw them up, would love to know how many tackles the back row made…
So what? Flannery didn’t sing anthem either. Doesn’t bother me. Too much partionism on here for my liking.
heard it on the radio today.
had a look at the 6n site there and they have POC down for missing two as well. Just gives top tacklers Fitz has 13, D Wallace had 9 he is only Irish back row listed.

Interesting reading, Heaslip had most errors and D Wallace the most carries! Would not have thought that

In fairness though he was so involved that he was always more likely to have some errors.
Flannery is a traitor as well. I have never heard of partionism.
Thought David Wallace had a good solid game, carried a lot of balls around the fringes but never got any ball in open space…Thought his defense was superb again yesterday…
Might have been outshadowed by the two young lads but I thought he went through a lot of work, as did Donnacha…
Hopefully Kidney can develop the game plan a bit more to get the likes of Wally in a bit of space with ball in hand…
Ya fair point

I don’t think anyone let us down.
How about that.
Bandage, by the way I like your new sig, v droll. SO you are obviously happy to take BOD advice and opinion as gospel on the tag rugby issue. Me too.

He sure knows his plasterboard though.
