Just a quick observation after reading through the posts here.
Disappointing that after a great result like yesterday, people need to break it down the Munster/Leinster thing.
Ireland won, it was an Irish team, it was 15 and more men from this island standing up for their jersey and their tradition.
Munster/Leinster didnt come into it yesterday. Lot of people obsessed with the provincial thing, yet not much mention of some great contributions made yesterday by Ferris, Bowe and to give Wallace his dues, he never shirked a tackle.
An Irish win.

i only see the leinster ‘boys’ drumming that one up to be honest, apart from kevin… but he’d defend osama bin ladin if he was from cark.
re: wallace i hope he gets another opportunity, it would be easy to throw darcy back in next week, definitely what eos would do but leave wallace in i say, esp against italy

What was i defending? I said O’ Gara was average. Wallace wasn’t as good as anyone else in the backrow. But nobody played poorly, we probably wouldn’t have won if they had.
Mac had a go, and then explained he was drunk.
I heaped praise on a number of Leinster players, so from what i can see your talking through your hole.

sure you took the bait of the anti munster brigade, nobody else saw the point to defend something that didnt need defending, thats all.
you tend to do it with cork too.

Maybe i do a bit, wouldn’t you do the same with Limerick?
Usually i’m trying to bring a bit of balance to the Cork debate. If you notice, or read, my posts, i have often critisised players, admins and even supporters in Cork. Most of the non-GAA people on here haven’t a clue about whats going on, and a few of the GAA people just take a side and stick to it, no matter what.
Its a sad pathetic situation that has caused me and many others great embarrassment.
I’d fuck out a number of administrators, players and coaches in Cork if i could, they are either poison or useless at this stage.
O’Gara too small to tackle?
FFS. How is it that someone like say Darcy about 5 foot 6 or so is well able to tackle a lad?
And Humphries was an alright tackler-often remember him on the edge of offside taking a lad out of it as he just received the ball.
Someone said there also that he can’t be excellent all the time?
IT’s been quite a while now since he’s done the business for Ireland whatever’s up with him.
To say “ah he wasn’t great alright but his passing was excellent” is funny to me too. Passing should come naturally to a player in his position.
Be like saying Ronaldo’s good at making the ball move with his foot, or Phil Taylor is good at hitting the dartboard.
Darcy is a good bit more than 5ft 6 and he probably a stone or so heavier than ROG. Humphreys was a woeful tackler, he gave it up altogether for the last 3/4 years of his career.
No one is excusing it. I just happen to think thats the reason why he gets blown out of it so often . A good big fella will always beat a good small fella.
WBY pointed out Stringer as being an exception to this, but a No 10 sees heavy traffic from opposition back rows, centres and wings coming in at pace etc. A scrum half normally tackles around the fringes or chasing fellas. You can be sure if you put Stringer standing in at 10 making head on tackles hed be blown into the middle of next week.
Maybe ROG technique isnt perfect either but I dont think its all that bad.
Like I said last night O Gara isn’t the first out half that couldn’t tackle and we won’t be the last either…Very few fly haves are superb tacklers, Andrew Merhtens was another world class fly half that couldnt tackle(forgot to mention him last night)
Its just a handy chance to have a pop. Most players have parts of their game that they are weak at. Rob Kearney needs to improve his kicking for example. Nobody went on about Paddy Wallaces equally poor tackling either, or that Gordon Murphy at about 6’ and 14 stone is also brutal at it.
I think it started with some of the Leinster lads having a go (rightfully) at the RTE boys saying it was a typical Munster performance when in fact most of the architects of the win were from Leinster.
I agree with MBB though. A great win for the Irish team.

Why does anyone take any notice of the RTE boys anyways? Why do people just not watch it on BBC like I do?
