Mac - Still hurting from yesterday?[/quote]
Not at all. Find it funny that when someone disagrees with you it means their either anti-cork, anti-munster or anti-gaa or something like that. God forbid a lad would have his own opinion!
I think we could all agree that Mal’s time is coming to an end though. I think he ended as an force when Julian White made him his bitch in Leicester a while back. That was embarrassing to watch.
What i find funny is the way ye wexicans never disagree when it comes to someone else having a debate about something.
It’s ok to have different opinions from fellow countymen as well you know. Just look at Cork.

Ah but you see Kev, we unite in the face of adversity
A concept that would be unknown to some of our Munster friends

Things are generally more competitive in Munster, but we actually get on very well. Many many of our Munster brethern will meet up at the various educational facilities, hurling fields and bars of Munster, and create a bond that lasts for a long time.
No change, wallace will need a transfusion before the championship is over
Ireland XV to face England in the RBS Six Nations at Croke Park on Saturday, 28 February at 5.30pm.
Robert Kearney, Tommy Bowe, Brian O’Driscoll (capt), Paddy Wallace, Luke Fitzgerald, Ronan O’Gara, Tomas O’Leary,
Marcus Horan, Jerry Flannery, John Hayes, Donncha O’Callaghan,
Paul O’Connell, Stephen Ferris, David Wallace, Jamie Heaslip.
Replacements: Rory Best, Tom Court, Mick O’Driscoll, Denis Leamy, Peter Stringer, Gordon D’Arcy, Geordan Murphy.
MOD on the bench, seems like MAL was not DK’s first choice back up then all along, interesting. Thought Quinny would get in there instead of MOD.
I wouldnt change Dorsh in for Paddy either to be honest. Were Dorsh fit, he possibly would get in there, but on Saturdays game, I just didnt think he was ready yet for the full game. If anything, I would have given Earls the jersey before Dorsh.
Irregardless, Paddy trained last week, no ill effects of getting pummelled, he holds his spot, which is fair enough for me.
Am disappointed with MOD on the bench. No bias involved, I just think he’s not up to the standard as most people have alluded to. Would prefer Quinlan or O’Kelly in there. If O’Connell or O’Callaghan get injured I’d nearly prefer to move Ferris or one of the back rows and bring Leamy on. Mick O is one of these players who seems to have legend status down south but I can never figure out why.
Other than that all the other calls are the right one and there’s no point changing a winning team.

Agreed Mick isn’t up to international, for me it should have been one of Ryan, Caldwell or Quinlan…All three would be proper impact subs
Why does Mick have such a high status down in Munster Puke? I can never understand it. A load of players that never really made it at international level all seem to be untouchable down there - himself, John Kelly, Anthony Horgan etc. Is it some sort of tribal thing or something?
i dont think he has anymore status than you see him as having, widely popular for being part of 2 successful European campaigns, but not an international standard.
in terms of this squad, he covers more positions than okelly would be kidneys diplomatic explanation for dumping lazy mal

I just remember there seemed to be some despair when he went off to France and then when he came back it seemed like a prodigal son was returning. He’s a regular captain of the 2nd / midweek Munster team so maybe that might be why? But I just never rated him.
While I would have had Quinny on the bench bringing himself and Leamy into a tight game probably wouldnt have helped Irelands penalty count!

I know in ROG’s book he talked in glowing terms about Mick O’Driscoll. Him being from Cork aside, he said that he was a good leader on the pitch. You’d be sure that that’s the kind of person that Kidney wants in the dressing room. (I’m sure big Mal gives that too though)
