Six Nations 2009

My hunch is that France will get it right in a big way in a big game very soon and tonight will be that night. They were unlucky just there.

Wales were lucky to get the try when they did, the french could well cut loose second half, medard has looked excellent with ball in hand while the french back row are working like trojan

French on top now, Heymans after finishing well…French win would be a great result for Ireland

Too much kicking but its good game alright. Jauzion, byrne, williams, any of the french back row could get man of the match

I would say either Jauzion or Quadraogo(sic) will get it…But have been very much impressed with medard and his lines of running at 15, he just seems to glide along the ground

are the welsh about to rob them

Allez les bleus

It’s on for Ireland in a big way now.

What ye reckon? Finally do the business, or a classic heroic failure?

Scottish banana skin perhaps

Tomorrow will tell a lot WTB…

I was thinking the same. They’ll be tough especially in their patch.

Murrayfield has always been the game where I thought Ireland might slip up. It’s always been a bogey. Wouldn’t be worried about tomorrow, we’ll take them no problem. And I think we’ll beat Wales. Even two wins from three would probably secure the championship, but it’s all about the Grand Slam now. FFS Wales have won two this decade and we’ve won none. This is the year. Fail this time and it’ll never happen. Ah fuck it, we’ll do it.

This Scotland Italy game is woeful.

Nice little ‘oh how we’ve all changed’ bit there on Tommy Bowe. Isn’t it great that we all grew up?

When I saw the report was by Tommie ‘What about the little children, Roy?’ Gorman, it was obvious the route it was going to go down.

I hope we get a good, open, attacking game of rugby football here.

17.26: First mention of ‘Munsteresque’ by Ryle.

God Save The Queen… Send her home victorious and all that.

Considering that she is still being sent home victorious from our country even now I would not stand for this monstrosity of an anthem.

Let’s sing about how we colonise everywhere and how we idolise someone on no other basis but she happened to be born into a royal family.

It stinks.

Was expecting a shot of Johnson during the presidential salute. Ball dropped by the director.

is the bloke with the bald head they kept focusing on earlier the bloke with a fetish for big masculine women? a bit harsh singleing him out for that

Agreed farmer, I feel your pain.

For all its historical baggage however, its not a whole lot worse than ‘Come the day and come the hour, Come the power and the glooooreee’ for vacuous nonsense.

But we grew up as a nation the day it wasn’t booed in Croke Park, where Hill 16 is built of the rumble of 1916 and where representatives of that Queen butchered a guy playing sports.
