If someone said to me two years ago that an Irish 1-10 in a six nations match would consist of Healy-Best-Court, Cullen-Ryan, McLaughlan-O’Brien-Heaslip,Reddan-Wallace I would have told them they were off their game…Never would have happened under Eddie, just shows the depth that is there, although there are question marks over a few of them lads

Wouldn’t be too worried about it, pretty much all our games with Italy over the last decade have been fairly poor spectacles…emptying the bench half way through the second half killed the game altogether…
Not much of an advert for rugby today. Was at the Ireland game - good first half, horrible second half. This game is worse though. Shocking standard and absolutely no creativity from England in particular.

Poor fare in the National Stadium today. Leo Cullen’s performance was immense though. The Italian lineout was totally obliterated. Difficult to see Donncha O’Callaghan getting his place back.
Cullen, O’Driscoll and Wallace were the only ones to emerge with credit.
Useless fact - Ireland’s last three lacklustre wins at home to Italy have all been the first game of that year’s championship. Ypu’d think the organisers would want to start with a bang rather than a whimper. Ireland generally play much better in Rome than they do at home against Italy.
