The slowness of O’Leary’s pass was really apparent during those phases when we were inside their 22. And he’s just fired one 5 yards behind the intended receiver.

Not only that, most of them tend to be high so a fella has to catch and then take the ball down to secure it. Sometimes they have to jump to take it in.
It’s only fractions of seconds it is costing them but at the highest level that is the difference between a line break and not.

Gordon Darcy in that one little vignette a few minutes ago justified his selection. So unlucky.
Rob Kearney’s big booming kick caused a French error there which led to an attcking position for Ireland. But Tomas O’Leary’s poor kick threw the possesion away.

You could excuse Healy giving away that penalty given they were threatening to score but Flannery swinging the boot at yer man when the referee was playing advantage to us was a really awful piece of indiscipline.
I have no idea how Flannery is still on the field.

Tony Ward saying that was coming but after initial good defence on that last scrum that was poor regrouping. Think the pack were congratulating themselves a bit for shoving France backwards because not one of them went beyond the first ruck. Wallace was far too narrow.
2 big errors from Healy and Flannery.
The Irish front five were demolished there, as I predicted. Tom Court in fairness was thrown into a very difficult position, in at the deep end due to Cian Healy’s mistake. But that was a clear example of where the scrummaging power of Bob Casey was badly missed.
