Six Nations 2011

I hate rugby and evrything it stands for

Elite me hole

So thats a no to TOL starting at scrum half then?

Agreed with that.

I have an irrational dislike for Duffy. Not that there’s much doubt that he’s not good enough to be an Irish international - I think it’s clearly obvious that he isn’t - there’s just something about the way he plays that annoys the fuck out of me too. Anyway he was never good enough before, isn’t good enough now and won’t be good enough in the future. Absolutely no point in playing him.

Lee Byrne has signed for Clermont. (not arsed bumping the other thread)

Wouldn’t hold too much fear of this french side, decent front row and back row but that aside it ain’t great…Trinc Duc at 10, Rougerie at 13 and Traille at 15 looks as though they ain’t going to be too creative…Damien Traille, Yoann Huget, Aurelien Rougerie, Maxime Mermoz, Maxime Medard, Francois Thrinh-Duc, Morgan Parra, Imanol Harinordoquy, Julien Bonnaire, Thierry Dusautoir (captain), Lionel Nallet, Julien Pierre, Nicolas Mas, William Servat, Thomas Domingo.

Substitutes: Guilhem Guirado, Luc Ducalcon, Jerome Thion, Sebastien Chabal, Dimitri Yachvili, David Skrela, Clement Poitrenaud.

Yeah it’s not as intimidating as you’d expect from the French.

Back row is pretty special though. And they’d destory our front row probably. Backline is poor though. Only the Maxime brothers at 11/12 would cause you concern as an opponent, though I don’t know much about Huget.

Cheer up Mac, at least its not MOD

Astonished with DOC and Leamy. After that, its as to be expected. TOL is there for physicality and nothing more, given the lads missing, I can understand that a little, but only a little.

Wouldn’t have started Best or O’Callaghan myself but presume he felt both needed the games for different reasons…Good to see McFadden and Ross start…Is O’Brien at 8???I would hope so

Leamy may well be playing shite at the minute but was always in pole position to start once Heaslip and Ferris were out

I was thinking this morning that if I was picking the team I’d have Leo and MOD both playing. Both have been the best on show this season and you’ll all know how hard it would be for me to admit something like that.

This shite is typical of Kidney favourtism and I genuinely hope Ireland get stuffed with this kind of bullshit going on. 5 fuckin Munster players when they’ve been terrible all season? Leamy? Fuckin Leamy?

All that being said, it’s great to see McFadden, O’Brien and Ross picked. But if I was Leo Cullen or Peter Stringer now I’d tell Kidney where he can shove his team selection.

Of course Leamy. Them Leinster lads wouldn’t have the breeding. There’s no one better than a Tipp man for pushing, shoving, dragging, lifting and a bit of jumping.

Gouging, don’t forget the gouging

I get the feeling if we had a back row of Ferris, Jamie and Wally/SOB Reddan or Stringer would have started, but with a rookie no 8 at this level he wanted the only string TOL has to his bow there, some physicality. Thats just my feeling on it.

Wrt Leamy Puke, I’d have Jennings in there instead, I really believe Leamy is a liability given his form and carry on for Munster, same goes for DOC. Kick in the hole needed for him, and the opportunity has been passed up.

 Maybe in Hayes’ on a Saturday night to a bit of Pearl Jam…

Sure stuff like that is considered courting in Tipp

What part of Tipp are them lads from Julio?

Agreed with that. I wouldn’t have started O’Leary but I’d have picked Stringer ahead of Reddan so once he wasn’t going to be involved it’s not that controversial a call. He has been poor but I don’t think Reddan has been much better.

The pack is where the real problems are. Leamy and DOC have done everything possible to play their way out of contention. Leamy is helped by injuries but selecting him ahead of Jennings even is inexplicable. He brings no control and he’s not doing the “wild” things as well as he used to either. As for O’Callaghan… well that’s just a horrible decision I think. Not sure how you explain to Cullen that form is entirely irrelevant when it comes to selecting the second rows because O’Callaghan is being picked up on the basis of a distant memory.
