RTE Sport also reckon kidney will call up players from this lineup for the italy game which you would presume he still needs to because if im right we currently only have Earls, Fitz and McFadden on the panel to play wing/fullback and no replacements for the backs
It’s one replacement prop still as far as I know.
Wolfhounds  well beaten tonight, and Ferris out of the Italy game now.
Scotland A 32-12 Ireland Wolfhounds
Johnnie Beattie was one of several senior players in the Scotland A line-up
Scotland A triumphed against Irish Wolfhounds at Netherdale.
Willie Faloon’s try helped the visitors into a deserved 13-9 lead at the break, Ian Humphreys and Scotland’s David Blair both registering penalties.
Moray Low crossed the line to give the Scots the edge after the interval and Blair and Greig Laidlaw kept the score ticking over with penalties.
And Hefin O’Hare put the seal on Scotland’s victory with a last-minute try from Fraser McKenzie’s pass.
With top team coach Andy Robinson watching from the stands, several of the Scottish players were looking to impress ahead of the upcoming Six Nations campaign and, after an early Ireland infringement, Blair kicked the hosts ahead.
But the Irish response was determined and Johne Murphy played in flanker Faloon, who looked destined to touch down before O’Hare made a last-ditch tackle.
Undeterred, Ireland recycled smartly and Faloon claimed the opening try, Humphreys converting.
A Blair penalty either side of two more successful kicks by Humphreys meant a four-point advantage for the Irish at the turnaround.
Low was introduced in place of Jon Welsh, who was withdrawn as a precaution, and though Blair missed his next penalty attempt, it was not long before Scotland regained the lead.
After opting to put a kickable penalty into touch, the Scots pressurised and Low crashed over from the drive, then Blair converted.
Blair and captain Laidlaw stretched the advantage with penalties.
And O’Hare added another touch-down, allowing Blair to complete the scoring with the conversion.
Scotland A: Jim Thompson; Hefin O’Hare, Ben Cairns, John Houston, Lee Jones; David Blair, Greig Laidlaw (capt); Jon Welsh, Dougie Hall, Geoff Cross, Scott MacLeod, Fraser McKenzie, Ryan Wilson, Johnnie Beattie, Alan MacDonald.
Replacements: Fergus Thomson, Moray Low, Rob Harley, Roddy Grant, Colin Gregor, Peter Murchie, Colin Shaw.
Ireland Wolfhounds: Gavin Duffy; Johne Murphy, Eoin O’Malley, Nevin Spence, Denis Hurley; Ian Humphreys, Tomas O’Leary; Brett Wilkinson, Damien Varley; Tony Buckley, Ian Nagle, Devin Toner, Kevin McLaughlin, Willie Faloon, Chris Henry (capt).
Replacements: Nigel Brady, Jamie Hagan, Andrew Browne, Dominic Ryan, Isaac Boss, Niall O’Connor, Ian Whitten.
Stephen Ferris set to miss Italy-Ireland clash in Rome
Ferris aggravated an old knee injury last weekend
Stephen Ferris looks certain to join Ireland’s list of absentees for next weekend’s Six Nations opener against Italy in Rome.
The Ulster player told BBC Sport on Friday that he was resigned to missing the match because of a knee injury.
“It’s now looking as though I’m going to miss the Italy game,” said Ferris.
Already out for the injury-hit Irish are Tommy Bowe, Shane Horgan, John Hayes, Jamie Heaslip, Andrew Trimble, Rob Kearney and Geordan Murphy.
Ferris, 25, added: "I basically aggravated an old injury in my left knee in last week’s game against Aironi.
"It was during a pushover scrum near the end of the game and I felt my knee go and a pile of bodies then ended up on top of me.
“It’s very disappointing but I’m hoping to be back for the second game against France.”
The injury to Ferris further reduces Declan Kidney’s back-row options and Denis Leamy, David Wallace and Sean O’Brien now look the obvious choices for the Rome contest, with Shane Jennings also in contention.
606: DEBATE
Shane Jennings has been in great form for the majority of the season
pete
Bowe is sidelined with a knee injury and is also a doubt for the clash with France a week later.
Hayes and Horgan are also expected to miss the encounter with France.
Leinster number eight Heaslip had his ankle injury reviewed by a specialist on Wednesday and it was confirmed that he will not be available for the Italy fixture, but could make a return against the French.
Heaslip’s injury has kept him out of Leinster’s Heineken Cup campaign since Christmas.
Horgan (knee) and Hayes (groin) were ruled out of the Italy game on Tuesday.
Leinster wing Horgan and Munster prop Hayes were both replaced at half-time in Heineken Cup matches last weekend.
Ulster wing Trimble misses out after breaking a bone in his right hand in the Heineken Cup win over Aironi.
Looking as though it will be 3 from O’Brien, Leamy, Wallace & Jennings so…
Could go 6.O’Brien 8.Wallace 7. Jennings…
But have the feeling it will be O’Brien Leamy Wallace
Should be the former
Leamy is clueless and his form has been poor (Wallace’s has been poor also however he’s less likely to give away as many penalties)
Agreed, would much rather the former myself but have the feeling management will go with the latter
Can’t believe how far back Leamy has gone. The captaincy of Munster did nothing for him.
Faloon should be there or thereabouts now I would have thought.Has come on a lot this season.Good to see him getting a try last night

Afterburners is another one, that clown Francis goes on about it a bit… Captain’s Run, for fuck sake…
About as useful as the players “clubs” still being listed beside their names.
Scotland A: Jim Thompson; Hefin O’Hare, Ben Cairns, John Houston, Lee Jones; David Blair, Greig Laidlaw (capt); Jon Welsh, Dougie Hall, Geoff Cross, Scott MacLeod, Fraser McKenzie, Ryan Wilson, Johnnie Beattie, Alan MacDonald.
What a ridiculous name.
Wolfhounds?
Stringer and McCarthy dropped for the 26-
TO’L now part of things again FFS
We’re in trouble if that clown is let near the pitch, would much preferred to have seen Boss and Stringer as the 2 scrumhalves
Duffy seems certain to start now, Lukey and Earls on the wings (although it should be McFadden for Fitz), BOD, Darcy, Sexton, Reddan, Healy, Cronin (hopefully), Ross (hopefully x2), POC and DOC (it should be Leo though, I suspect Kidney will spin some bullshit yarn about sticking with combinations), Wallace, SOB and Leamy (My preference as stated earlier would be for Jennings, SO’B, Wallly, he has brought Locky up to the 26 so it would be great if he was given a chance for a second cap at blindside)
What was the point in dropping O’Leary and calling up Stringer only to reverse it before the first match? Weird. Didn’t see any of the A game last weekend but hard to think O’Leary gave a masterclass in a sound beating.
Who knows?
Newspaper reports weren’t positive about the team or individual performances
Bad sign to be honest - our strength in dpeth should be much more than theirs
I’d be disappointed if Duffy gets the nod at 15…Fitz and Earls both haven’t set the world alight in this position in recent times but would rather either of them there, allowing McFadden to come in on one of the wings…
Leo Cullen has to be in the team. He gave an interview at the weekend that detailed all the ridiculous snubs he’s endured throughout his career. Not being picked on Saturday would take the complete and utter piss.
