24-19 to the Italians
68 gone
Home advantage is an advantage in soccer, a slight advantage. In the six nations, teams that are at home almost always win and teams that are away almost always lose, apart from Italy who are just a novelty act.
This is a fairly easy thing to understand
The backgrounds of the Irish Leinster and Munster teams tell a different story
By middle class or those aspiring to be… Rugby has always been a tool for social climbing, there’s a great thesis done on it that dismisses any notion that it’s a working class game in any way, shape or form. No harm in it, but elitism, even in the odd community like Young Munster, has always been part of the rugby tradition. Trying to deny that is as bad as the anti rugby mindset.
It’s played by doctors and judges in Argentina.
Scots have edged ahead pal. Italians look “spent” according to TV3 pundit who encourages us to look at players away from the ball which we could do if we were in Rome I suppose.
Its more than a slight advantage in soccer. Home advantage is a big thing in rugby and particularly in the last 3 years in the 6 nations but to say its the main determinant is a bit over the top, mate and I get the feeling it may have been a cheap attempt at garnering some cheap likes.
What time are our Irish heroes playing?
Italians ahead again. This is on a fucking knife edge lads.
Same in Australia
Ewan did a good article about Irish rugby recently, something like 80 percent of the current team went to private school the other 20 are from Samoa.
Funny thing is lads that are excluded from the sport such as horsebox and Kevin jumping on the bandwagon
Limerick lads were excluded from Irish teams for years unless they had the right background.
It does seem to be the main determinant this year anyway. Ireland are the only team to win an away game apart from against Italy and that was with a last second drop goal from way out against apparently the worst French team in years. Scotland beat England and France at home, got hammered by Wales and Ireland and are struggling against Italy away. It is very very strange and a much bigger advantage than there is in soccer
Absolute nonsense
Take it up with the author who spent 5 years researching it.
Not that strange. There are only 6 teams in it and there isnt that much between England Ireland France and Wales most years in the last nearly 20 years so the home team often wins. Ireland have beaten every team in it away from home in the last 10 years as have England and France so it is not the deciding factor but certainly an advantage.
Pairs of tickets for twickenham are going for 3000 according to the beeb…
I’m only talking about this year as this is the first year I’ve noticed it. It is very strange to me, teams looking shite away and looking like world beaters at home
Send him my way and show me the book
