Nah, Seven Nations is where it’ll be at. Whether Italy should be that seventh nation is another day’s work.
Can you get a bonus point for 4 tries and a bonus losing point in the one game?
Be great for CJ Stander to meet up with his family every year.
White Stripes royalties for VT audio about to skyrocket
Just arrived into Dublin. Something very beautiful about six nation mornings in Dublin around spring.

England home matches only. 1998-2002. Went entirely free to air again from 2003 on.
A residual popularity and widespread national consciousness of the competition remained until around 2010 because up to then it was still quite a novelty to see Irish teams do well. When that Munster team broke up post 2009 the genuine national consciousness of the competition began to fade. Leinster reaching the final in recent years just hasn’t been that big a deal with the Irish sporting public. Munster’s games at Thomond Park from 2000-2006 were communal events of the sort that had not been seen before in Irish rugby. That team was burned into the consciousness by free to air television and because the atmospheres at those games were unlike anything seen before. The new Thomond Park is a very nice ground but paradoxically, the rot for Munster began to set in when they built it. Because there was no longer any scarcity of tickets, the actual tickets for matches became less prized and the atmosphere declined because the crowd was made up largely of floating supporters rather than the diehards who created the atmosphere that made people sit up and take notice that this was something worth watching. And less TV access meant the wider public sort of forgot about the competition. Now it’s even worse than when Sky had it because BT have it. Out of sight, out of mind
I remember catching one ireland v England game in the Arduu Ryan on the Ennis Rd during this time. The place was packed to the gills. Rugby followers simply didn’t do Sky Sports at home back then. It was almost a badge of honour to say they didn’t have it
A game for Rob Kearney today you’d have thought. Going to be a long afternoon for Lamour.
