Sky Bet Championship 2013/14

2 games in and Forest, Watford, Blackpool and Wigan(having only played once) are all sitting pretty with 100% records. Of the 3 relegated sides the pre-season favourites QPR have started well enough too with a win and a draw and a good early start for them is crucial if Harrys gonna stick around, can see them getting stuck though and Harry will be off as soon as the first half decent vacancy presents itself in the EPL. Can see Wigan floundering too under Coyle and don’t see Reading being much of a threat this season.

Forest are primed to make a big push this season, Billy has had time to settle back in, there’s been a period of stability unlike headin into previous seasons and their Kuwaiti owners have not been shy about splashing the cash. They also seem to lean quickly from their mistakes and with strong new additions, Darius Henderson from Millwall, Eric Lichaj from Villa, Kelvin Wilson returns to the big time from some provincial tin pot league, Jamie Mackie from QPR, Jamel Abdourn from Olypiakos and with the promise of more to come, I fully believe that this is the season Forest reclaim their rightful place in the premiership.

One team I am expecting big things from is Zola’s Watford who were so unlucky last year and despite losing last years Chship POTY Matej Vydra to West Brom, have re-enforced with some serious signings including a bloc of lads from Udinese, (Fabbrini, Acuna, Angella, Fioresti) and Lewis Mcgugan from Forest. Mcgugan is a serious talent with a penchant for scoring big goals but his heart doesn’t always appear to be in it. If Gianfranco can coax the best out of him on a consistent basis he’s a top notch addition. They also have the excellence of Troy Deeny who’s already scored 4.

Another team I fancy to do well is Bolton who were flying at the latter stages of last years league and have strenghtened over the Summer and have an excellent manager in Dougie Freeman.

At the other end I see catastrophic seasons for Ipswich, Derby and especially Leeds

Promotion Predictions
1 Forest
2 Watford
3 Bolton

Relegation
22 Derby
23 Ipswich
24 Leeds

Mid table dross
Huddersfield Town
Sheffield Wednesday

Ipswich will be difficult to beat under McCarthy. Can see them close to the playoffs

I can’t see how they won’t walk this to be honest.

How close exactly can you see it bruv?

They’ll be top half, about 10th at least in my view

Forest to win the league and Derby to be relegated!

I like you lazurus!

Very hopeful for Forest this year but Im a little concerned by our inability to bring in any New striker and get rid of the deadwood. Why they gave tudgay a new contract God only knows and the sooner we get rid of Miller the better. Derbyshire did ok in pre-season but im still not convinced and while henderson will do a job in certain away games dont think he will get 20+. Very happy at getting Wilson back and I think Lichaj will be a good addition and Its seems Davies has settled on Cohen as our left back. Yet to see abdoun but have been impressed by the little I have seen form Patterson. Hopeful for Automatic but fear we may have to settle for the dreaded Playoffs.

Leeds relegated! Not a chance with the affable Brian McDermott in charge. They’ll be play-off contenders.

Nigel Clough has been sacked by the filthy Derby County after Forest played them off the park yesterday. In time Im sure Nigel will see this as a blessing

Fuck me but Ireland are bunched if they ever have to start that incompetent Darren Randolph in goals.

Conor Sammon with a late winner for Steve McClaren’s Derby at Watford yesterday.

James McClean was sent off for Wigan.

Paddy McCourt scored a golazo for Barsnley.

Tony Mowbry got sacked by 'boro today, a run of one win in 11 will do that

Stone cold Sean Dyches Burnley FC have been a revelation this season and are currently 2pts clear at the top of the table. They’ve been in flying form and have won 9 of their opening 12 including a victory at Portman Rd at the weekend. Their +15 goal difference is 5 better than the next best in the division. Vokes and Inges great form up front has made up for losing Charlie Austin who they sold to QPR for 4mill just before the start of the season. These 2 meet next Saturday in a top of the table clash, should be a belter

I see we hammered Birmingham on Sunday. Are they really shite?

I watched it Mac. It was a truly awful game and a million miles from the Epl (whatever one thinks of that)

Huddersfield Town 3 - 2 Leeds United

:clap::clap::pint::pint:

They never beat us!!! Jon Stead with the winner.

That Josh McEachran is a dreadful footballer. Watford really missing Chalobah and Vydra this season.

He scored the opener but Leicester’s Chris Wood is one lumberjack of a footballer.

Steve McClaren seems to have galvanised Derby County.

Who’s going to get promoted, chaps?

I can exclusively reveal that Aitor Karanka will be confirmed as Boro’s new manager tomorrow on a 2 and a half year deal, replacing the sacked Tony Mowbry. Karanka was Mourihnos assistant at Real and had been linked with the Crystal Palace gig. Both clubs will be playing Championship football next season.
