As I mentioned here the other day I’ve taken the ridiculous decision to change the look & feel of TFK again.
The reasons for this are complex and difficult for the layman to comprehend, but in short I felt like tinkering and so I did.
There should be no loss of functionality, it’s just a stylistic change. But things move about so if there’s anything missing or horribly inconvenient then let me know and I’ll carefully consider the feedback before rejecting it.
Why Change?
TFK is a great spot for meeting people with personality disorders, bullies, internet hardmen, keyboard warriors and roasters. But it’s also free and doesn’t have ads and the price for all that is you have to tolerate my occasional tinkerings which are the type of thing that I oddly enjoy doing occasionally.
Colours
TFK will no longer have our #528036 shade of green as our highlight colour. It had started to annoy me. Maybe the Wexford-esque purple-yellow combination won’t be to everyone’s taste but if it’s just colours that piss people off then that’s fine. There is an alternative based on more greenish-blueish shades that can be used by anyone who wants.
Other Style Changes
The other main changes are:

[]Prefixes are a bit more organised now in their own column which should make them more convenient and also make the thread titles easier to read.
[]Some less prominent features of the site which were always there should be a bit more prominent now. e.g. The ability to just see posts that have new content, the ability to see the most liked posts etc will be a bit easier to find from the main menu.
[]The posts page is a fair bit more minimalist. There is less space taken up by signatures, ratings, quote buttons etc which means a bit more visibility for the posts themselves. This would be far more useful if our posts tended towards the useful and informative but it’s still no harm to have misspelled bile that bit easier to read.

New Features
Only a couple that really warrant attention:

[]Predefined response. Imagine if you will that you’re the type of troubled poster who often replies to posts with “FOAD you utter cunt of a man - mods, bad this prick.”
It can be time-consuming typing that out each time. So now* you have the ability to type out a couple of witty responses like that in your profile settings and then simply choose one that you want to use in any reply, without having to type it again:

Any Comments
If there’s anything missing, if the font is too small/too large/too ugly then let me know. In particular, if there are issues with how it looks on a tablet or phone I’ll try and change those. It’s hard to test every scenario on every device so happy to tweak it as required.
