Spain vs. Italy

Well hey, that’s the way it is.

No, but it was a small number…[/quote]

Brazil won on two different continents and were the dominant team in world football for 12 years. They also played exciting thrilling football. If that doesn’t give them a claim to be the greatest team ever I don’t know what does.

That is very strange. But then you’re a strange chap Totti.

+1

I really hope the Italians shred these boring Spainsh fucks now.

If it’s anything like the semi final I’ll struggle to stay awake.

I had a dream last night that Chiellini scored a first half header for us before the new Tardelli wrapped it up late on.

Things will never be the same

Totti and anything Spanish is beyond boring at this stage… I hope for his mental health that Italy win on Sunday. If not, Shan-gate could be surpassed.

thats total balls. spain have reached this level and sustained it through three tournaments… in the meantime thier players have helped their clubs to dominate european club competition as well.
including sides that had one off successes is plain silly and france 98 2000 were totally imbalanced with some of the greatest players in their positions ever and some frankly useless players. particularly their forwards.

having said all that i hope Italy win it.

Spain can then go off in a huff and set up a new soccer association where the object is to keep the ball in games. this will eliminate the need for goal line technology as there won`t be any goals and spain can be champions of that.

one major factor in italys favour is the inferiority complex spain have with italy.

lets hope there is another tassoti enrique incident - they will moan about it for years

1982 - Altobelli
2012 - Balotelli?

:strokechin:

While I find Italy’s play in this tournament to have been thrilling I also am fascinated and thrilled albeit in a different way by Spain’s post modernist attitude towards the game. In many ways it is a reflection of their national character and culture. In what other country would you say to an architect give me a church and he’d give you the Sagrada Familia or give me a bridge and you’d get a Calatrava or say to a painter give me a painting and you’d get a Picasso or a Dali. Similarly say now to the Spanish give me a football style and they come up with tiki taka, a surreal and extreme variation on the possession game played without forwards capable of being played by munchkins and often without any obvious intention of scoring.

Only a nation as dedicated to thinking beyond the box as the Spanish could devise and implement this.

dali wasnt spanish

Next you’ll be saying Howth isn’t in Fingal.

Next you’ll be saying Howth isn’t in Fingal.

something beautiful and unique about the Spanish people alright…they play football their own way, they do everything in their own time…while the rest of the world runs around in the rat race the Spaniard takes a siesta under the olive tree…no jobs…no problem…once they have enough for a cannia and a tapas in a chiringuito who cares ??..

The Spanish are homos.

only to the narrow minded italian a person’s sexulaity still might be an issue…isn’t there something ironic about a player of West african lineage holding the nation’s hopes in his hand…oh how the worm has turned for this horrible backward nation…

Glad you’ve finally seen that drug-addled bender in your avatar for what he is.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this game since yesterday. It’s a very even game, albeit with contrasting styles. The Spanish play keepball and try and bore their opposition into lapses of concentration, whereas we play a refreshing, inventive and varying style of attacking football. I think one of the main successes of the group in this tournament is the fact that the squad is mainly made up of Northern Italians - only Cassano, Di Natale and Nocerino are Southerners. The Southerners can be quite tempestuous and have issues under extreme pressure. The Northerners in contrast have tempered passion and add such assurance at the big moments - they rarely let you down.

I’m going to put my neck on the line and go for an Italian win. I do think the days extra rest will suit the Spanish and the longER the game goes on and hangs in the balance, the more you’d fancy Spain. We also need to start off well in this one, we’ve been slow to start off against England and Germany and relied on a bit of luck before settling into the game, we need to make sure we start off well Sunday night. I will be wearing my favourite azzurri blue silk shirt on Sunday night and I will have my Armani shades nestled in my thick black hair, I have two day old stubble at the minute and plan not to shave until Monday morning.

FORZA ITALIA!
