Prandelli has a big choice to make on who he leaves out to bring in either Abate/Maggio. Bonucci, Barzagli and Balzaretti were sensational tonight and Chiellini is the best centre back in Europe. Does he go with a back 3 again? If so who drops out in midfield - most likely Montolivo.
What options to have though! I hope we do it, be kind footballing gods, be kind.

I’ve gone against Italy in every game so I won’t break the hex now, Totti.
Spain to win 2-0.
If Spain win this they will have to be crowned the greatest international side in history ?
Italy have all the momentum you’d feel coming into this. Spain will have some doubts after the semi but also the weight of history and expectation.
I’d start with Torres. He caused them all sorts of problems when he came on last day and will bring more balance to the team.

Italy (1982), Germany (1996), France (1998, 2000), Italy (2006), Holland (1988) for a start.

None of those sides won consecutive tournaments , France are only contenders and Spain surpass them if they win
Brazil won successive world cups in 1958 and 1962. They surely must be in the running.

Yes, but Spain did it in a sleazy way.
There were only 4 teams playing international football back then

Spain are also the only European team to ever win the World Cup outside of Europe

They are also the only European side who have won it that have never won it in Europe.
This “3 in a row = best ever” thing is nonsense.

No, but it was a small number…

Strange that you’d consider a victory by a host nation to be worth more than a victory outside your continent.
We’re only interested in winners and medals here, it’s the fairest measure
